Also the fact that hsr is a very low maintenance game. Even if I did feel like quitting, I’d still log on and do dailies and auto my relic caverns. And they they always find away to get me hooked again some way or another, whether that’s a new character or new story.

HSR basically has two modes. On and off. “ON” is when the new part of the story drops and you are intensely playing, feeling so many emotion and probably crying at some point. Pulling for that character or LC you’ve saved and waited for. “OFF” is during the slow time when you can just quickly pop by and do daily maintenance and the random events. Hibernate and wait for the next ON. It works because OFF doesn’t require much effort and ON is so worth keeping the game going The well designed characters and multiple play styles help a lot. Also that the content is more mature since it revolves with complex issues like politics , morality , finance and beliefs just in a sci-fi fantasy setting. PS. The pink foxian with Kazuha’s VA is totally hot. With or without the pants 😂

HSR is my comfort game. I go back to it when I need a break from the intensity fast pace that is WuWa's combat. And no, WuWa didn't replace Genshin. Quit that a long time ago.

I've never played a turn based game you know. The first time i heard hsr is not going to be open world i was so disappointed. But now I'm glad its turn based. For me hsr has good lore, good graphics, I love the characters and their depth and the gameplay takes very little effort and time. They are also comparatively generous towards f2ps. I've gotten so busy that i stopped playing many games. Except for this one. 7-8mins a day is enough and at the weekends i do the events and missions. A comfort game really. Who knew being turn based actually turned out to be such a blessing. Hsr never stressed me out. Its the perfect little escape from the mundane routine of life.

Another thing about hsr is how genuinely funny it is compared to WuWa and Genshin. The trailblazers insane inner monolog makes me excited to click on things around the maps so even flat areas feel engaging.

I'm so confused by everyone's negative opinion about going back to the Luofu. After we finished our original mission in Luofu, we ended up going back to Belobog to deal with the aftermath of everything that happened. Do people not expect us to do the same here? Do people expect all the plot points that were left unfinished/not completely explored to just be forgotten about?

1. Out of wuwa, gi, and hsr, hsr is the only one that will actually play on my older laptop. 2. Boothill. He came out right as i was getting frustrated with wuwa not working at ALL for me, and he dragged me back to the game after an 8 month hiatus 3. I like the found family vibe of the entire nameless crew, and how the dev team actually cares about them (good new path for trailblazer, new game mode that makes himeko s tier, new path for march 7th and dan heng's importance in the trailblaze missions during the zl arc + the 5* version of him), while in gi the traveller got shafted with the most useless kit in the entire game in fontaine (i was a lumine main who uses all the other elements and i was so angry) 4. When i came back there were so many quality of life changes; not having to change trailblazer's lc and relics when i switch paths, the story and adventure missions being neatly organized so i can figure out what i have/haven't done, and the resin overfill making it so i had two weeks of farming as much as i pleased to upgrade my characters for newer content. It felt more forgiving and welcoming when I came back to hsr for the first time in forever vs the many times I came back to gi after a break

Nice to see trails mentioned. It's such an awesome storyline and has some of the best characters in gaming. Personally while I find Starrail storytelling good I also would say it feels somewhat limited by being a Gacha game. They don't really have the breathing room to write a story on the level of an epic saga like Trails or a 100-hour jrpg like Persona. Although that's not to say they can't make some awesome storytelling(aventurine 2.1 quest is enough to showcase that). Hsr is really comforting game for me. I am still playing it by myself. I make some wacky teams. This game just has a lot of potential. And also, the story of Belobog and Penacony are incredible. Especially the land of dreams.

I’m new to Honkai Star Rail and I’m already completely hooked. I find it way more interesting than Genshin and love the gameplay and story. I only finished Janilo 6 and am about to move onto the new chapter, if I can stop myself from doing side quests to actually advance the plot. Clara is easily one of my favorite characters so far since I find her totally adorable, especially when she addresses the Trailblazer as “big brother” (I play as Caelus instead of Stelle). Then there’s Natasha and Bronya. Honkai really starts out strong.

I will always play for my forever wife Firefly And also the story the characters the turn-based combat makes it really enjoyable for me, and the game itself is just well made in my opinion.

I honestly got bored with HSR after Belobog and none of the other characters really caught my attention outside Himeko (cause I wanted to see her again after HI3). I picked it up again after seeing Acheron. Specifically, when I saw Acheron's Ult. She looked similar to Alpha Crimson Weave from Punishing Gray Raven. Her trailers showing the parallels to HI3 also helped

Personally, I tried out Honkai star rail because 1. I got a new phone, and 2. It was the hit new game, and because of that, I kept hearing rumors, and when I heard part of belobog’s sound track, and apart of *that* song, (U know what I’m talking about.) I decided to try it. That was patch 1.0, and besides a month after my b-day, I have not stopped playing since. The music pulled me in, the gameplay, lore, characters, memes, and so much more kept me enjoyed, and loving the game. And even now, divergent universe has been a blast to play, and for the past 3 days, my time has been spent doing the convergence levels with my firefly. (as of right now, I’m on 5/6 ☠️) And the time management is really good; you only need to spend around 5 mins to finish your dailies, and if you want to, you can mint-pick, and farm mats. I personally love playing HsR, and as a lore-chaser, and music lover, it’s a good mix of all of that.

Great video man. I've been playing since 2.0 and have been absolutely hooked and will probably never stop as long as they support the game and continue to write great stories. I keep coming back because of 2 reasons: the story/characters (they are kinda one and the same for me) and unlike other gacha games, this one actually respects my time. The fact that I can hit a few buttons and auto through my dailies on my phone is fucking insanely good QoL. Overall HSR is turning out to be my personal GOTY.

I played Star Rail when it first launched but I dropped it a week later because I couldn't get invested into it. It wasn't until recently I picked it up due to Genshin burn out and I've been having blast! The gameplay is so refreshing and I absolutely adore every character they've been releasing. Why I started playing HSR: - Another Honkai title. To add on, a character from the other Honkai game is making an appearance, named Welt Yang so I wanted to see how his journey will go after his "ending" in the Hi3 manga. - The fact there's parallel versions of Honkai Impact 3rd characters in this also got me intrigued like Bronya and Seele. I'll count Silver Wolf as well. - Sucker for turn based combat Why am I still playing? - Same reasons above remain true - Firefly/SAM - Mo- Ahem, Kafka. Love her voice in English dub - Story and lore "We're trailblazers so why are we going backwards", Mmmmmm I like that. That hit hard 👌 All in all, yeah I love this game. Hell way more than HI3, which after the end of Part 1, Part 2 isn't doing it for me. I still enjoy it but not as much as when I got into it. As for Gangrene Impact, couldn't get into it. Open World gets boring for me that's the main reason.

I actually dont really like gameplay. But i like the characters and music. So i keep coming back for those. I realize yesterday when doing event, i ragequit cuz its too long and i just think WTF is this. Yet, i open youtube to watch March 7th funny videos or some musician breaking down the whole Jarilo OST. Like Hi3, im not playing the game. But it always playing in my heart

The story is good, characters are interesting, the game respects your time and much more. Heck, it seems all the QoL features players wanted to be implemented in Genshin got implemented in HSR instead. And you can play HSR comfortably on your phone, unlike an ARPG like Genshin which is more dependent on your phone's specs and internet connection latency.

Personally, 3 things: 1) very low maintenance game. Even if I don't have much time or don't feel like playing, I can log in, auto-play for 5 minutes and get my dailies done, and log off. The only things that take more time are the story and events. 2) The story is actually pretty good. And the presentation might be the best in the gacha genre. Pretty cool dungeons and places to explores too. 3) As far as turn based RPGs go, this has one of the most interesting combat systems I've seen without being overwhleming. (Like, say, Limbus Company) Unlike most RPGs, each DPS / party composition actually introduces a few unique mechanics and feels a bit different to play, while remaining pretty easy to understand.

One thing not many people mention is how damn good is the main character, lore and gameplay wise. I've built her in every path and she can do everything her kit proposes pretty well (yup, even destruction path. YALL SLEEP SM ON THE DESTRUCTION TB?? THE MULTIPLIERS ARE INSANE). And when it comes to character, she is by far my favorite. It always get me dead when those schizo episodes happens and we start communicating with trash cans.

This game has its ups and downs, but I like it a lot. I love building my characters, discussing the lore, analyzing the designs, and, even if sometimes I dislike the art direction for some characters, I admire their work and how they try to improve their game. The story too has its bad moments, a lot of pacing issues, and long dialogues, but when I see how big the world is, it can't be perfect, and that's fine. I am very skeptical of the 3 patches we'll be getting of the lofue, but then again, even if it's mid, just the fact that Sunday is coming out in 2.7 will keep me engaged.

I got pissed off with power creep last year when DHIL and Jingliu came out in back-to-back patches and I was like "Fuck this I ain't dealing with this FOMO every patch." Fast Forward 7 months or so and turns out they're still pretty great if not the "Apex" DPS units (hint hint nudge nudge). So guess I was wrong with the power creep. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely there with Acheron and Firefly but not enough that you can't get 3 Stars in MOC 12 with a well built DHIL or Jingliu. I like that Hoyo is trying to entice players with new playstyles (Break/FUA) instead of the CRIT DPS meta in 1.0. I came back for Firefly but fell in love with Boothill. Spent a $100 to get him and his LC so I guess I can't stop investing in this game. That said I feel that the game has matured to a point that you don't have to get every character and it was my short sightedness that took me away from the game in the first place. I only played for like 7 weeks (started on last W3 of 1.3. and stopped W1 of 1.5) and I can still clear MOC 6 no problem. Trying to learn to be patient for the long game. CC making videos on 1 cycling MOC 12 doesn't help because it makes me feel like shit when instead it's meant to show you your team's potential. Also having missed characters like Ruan Mei and the free Ratio makes me feel super dumb for having come back now. Still the game is very fun and even better than I'd played it last year. Totally feel you on the "AAA" crowd turning up their nose at the "Gacha" saying things "pReDaToRy MoNeTiZaTiOn" or whatever and I'm like yea but HSR gives me money's worth than spending $200 on a Steam sale only to end up hating everything but a random $20 indie lmao

In case you did not know (and this is the same case with Genshin too), if you ever wondered why we have so many events in the parts ofbthe game based on China, HoYo has a sort of agreement with the CCP that if HoYo keeps producing more events, content and such around Chinese reigions of the game and thier culture then HoYo can add stuff that is normally banned by the CCP (such as queer/LGTB characters, moments and such in thier games as long as they are not too explicit with it), i find this a fair trade off, i may hate the CCP but if this is what it takes to have more gay stuff in the game then as long as they don't promote anything too bad i am fine with it.

Honkai Star Rail has the lamest turn based combat system I've ever seen. It's mind numbingly bad to watch the same animations repeat 50 times per battle. 70% of the "combat" is waiting for animations to complete so you can make your one of two choices per character... its fucking BAD.

Honestly. I dont get how u think hsr has a good story. Like i mean its good on paper, but execution is awful. Bad character chacterisation with everyone feeling boring and troupy with the exception of aventurine, dr ratio and sunday. THOSE ARE THE ONLY WELL WRITTEN CHARACTERS. Firefly is pretty much cry bait, with a mid design tbh, and all she doesnt is exposition dumping. Shes lucky shes cute or no one would like her. I think HSR really needs to learn to to properly use the cahracter perspective shifting to aid there ability to tells stories on characters. Instead it feels like just tell dont show. Another problem, is the stories inclination to making characters talk like retards to were u have to decrypt things charactetrs say because they start talking in poetry for exmaple acheron. Or another thing, they are trying to do this thing were u learn through assimilation into the world, but the problem is they are shit at this, and u have to go on a wiki to read about certain words, phrases becasue they just dont explain them, they do this with the plot aswell, where they just make the assumption uve read the lore on how things work, and asked people what they think, for example the sea sorrounding penicony and what penicony actually is and how it works some visual story telling would be nice in aiding the understanding the world they are trying to create, instead of third party recounts and lore dumps. Characters also need some fattening up, like all of the astral express are bland and uninsteresting in hsr itself. With welt and himeko getting more characterisation in the short manga for Hi3. March is intersrting atleast and funny. But dan heng is legit a nothing character, where not much would change if u took him out.
