Your videos are awesome and helpful. I got an 04 Cobra for my wife back in Feb/March. I think the fuel sending unit just went out. I purchased a Fore Kit (non-return style / we won't run E-85), and plan on replacing the Fuel Sending Unit using one of your vids as a guide. Thanks, bro.

I came across a service manual that indicates that the fuel can be siphoned out through the fill tube by using Fuel Tank Drain Hose 310-F013. It must be obsolete since I can't find anyone who sells it but there is something similar : Rotundra 310-102 Fuel Draining Hose and Adapter Kit - But it's ridiculously expensive ($286). I wonder if anyone has tried using that kit.

Too bad there are so many gas thieves around these days. I need to replace my defective fuel pump in my 02 GT that has 3/4 tank full of gas. Even if I drop the tank with all that gas in it, I still need to remove the gas so I can clean the tank as recommended by Delphi. Can the fuel filler be moved out of the way enough to get a siphon hose into the tank without dropping the tank?

I need to take out the dang filler tube. The dang valve on the bottom is stuck or something. Really difficult to fill with gas at .25 gallon per click at the pump. I have checked just about all the vents, etc. Not much else it can be.

Hi Danny! Ok, I have a 2002 Mustang GT and my issue is I got a bad load of gas from the gas station and I mean a full load. I have been looking for a way to get all of it out of my tank and I really don't want to drop the tank to do this. I know I can't put a hose down the fill neck and you told one of your followers that he can't pull the fuel from the filter as it may not come through the fuel pump. I also saw one of your videos on removing the pressure from the fuel rail by disconnection the inertia switch and running the car till it stops. My question is, the inertia switch stops power to the pump, can I hook up power on the wire at that point to make the fuel pump run? What I would like to do is use the pump to pump out the tank but I don't want to do it using the fuel prime way as that will take forever and be a bit hard on my key switch as I would be turning the key to run then to off and run again as the prime will only run for a second or two. If this doesn't seem like a way to do it then can you please suggest a better way to accomplish this task? Thanks!

It really isn’t too bad to drop the tank, even just the side with the filler neck and once it’s lowered and the filler neck removed, put the hose in to siphon it. I’ve done it via the pump at the fuel rail and it will only prime for a few seconds and kill the battery and pump kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i86XnqqJsbnPnGQ.html

So does any one have a suggestion or vid link or method to drain a mustang 2001 fuel tank that is .. of course FULL - the fuel pump is bad and can't be used to empty tank . any tricks as to dropping the tank -does the filler neck have to come out to drop the tank .. in essence how to minimize the fuel loss spillage on the floor from a safety aspect ... thanks ......
@dannyjohnsonsgarage3 жыл бұрын
It will come out of the filler neck as you drop the tank. Here is my video on the entire process kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i86XnqqJsbnPnGQ.html

I'm just curious if someone just for the heck of it pours water or sand or something into the fuel tank, can they do that? Obviously the 2 metal pins can be pressed by a screwdriver or a bottle of fuel additive, then the cover opens, that's really sad but also stupid of the makers if that's the case.

Just remove the one screw holding tube connection from. Filler neck to tank and done. 30 seconds.
