Bangkok, the capital of Thailand is a dazzling city. It offers everything the visitor longs for in Southeast Asia. Be it delicious street food, traditional Thai massages, incredible urban jungle or amazingly fascinating temples. Besides the more than 400 temples in the city, Ancient City offers several others that are unique. Overwhelmed by the hype, we wanted to see it on site with our own eyes, but our expectations were not fulfilled.

Have been there in April this year (2024). And I made a huge mistake by taking a free bicycle. Horrible experience in the heat, and even the breaks did not work properly. Next time I would try an E-bicycle, not too expensive. But that place is definately worth a visit, especially if you do not have the time to visit all Thailand. It gives you a good impression of Thailand, architecture and Thai culture.

All due respect, if this includes in your itinerary preparation is needed. Financially, emotionally, physically, intellectually.. tourist fees are normally more expensive it's one of the tourism business they took advantage with the place ofcourse. Anyhow still planning to go there.. drones normally restricted due to privacy, security and maybe idea copying protection (plagiarism) as a tourist we also need to be prepared to understand and respect other country's culture and traditions.

I think you meant Ankor Wat when you're talking about the temple that you thought was inspired by the one you saw in Siem Reap, Cambodia. In fact, the one at Samut Prakan Ancient City is a replica of Phanom Rung which is a Hindu Khmer Empire temple complex located in Buriram Province in the Isan region of Thailand. Phanom Rung is also known as Prasat Hin Phanom Rung.

Sorry, you did not learn about Thai architecture or realize the authenticity of most of the traditional buildings. ( They’re not all copies.) I have been there 15+ times and all my friends loved it because the variety of Thai architecture all in one place. It sounds like a water is more your style.
