I learned this in grade school. Ever since, I always wondered if there was a way to use sound mixing/editing software artificially re-insert the bone conduction effect back into a recorded voice. That way people could hear my cool bone voice, and i could hear what other people sound like inside their own heads.

You get used to it for one, and also through years of training your voice to hit certain notes correctly, so you know when they're correct or not after a while. Humans are great at mimicking sounds after all

Well, you know, the difference between hearing your recorded and not voice is not very huge. Yes, it sounds just a little bit deeper, as I can say from my experience, but that doesn't really make your practicing difficult. The note you're singing is still on the same pitch and you can say, if you're singing it in your light or deep voice, depending not only on how it feels inside, but on, also, how you hear it.
@JGMeador444

To add to what Ritenpai said, many singers have certain places that they feel resonance. They've trained and listened to themselves enough to know that when their voice feels like it's resonating in a certain place it makes a certain kind of sound, and they use that feeling to guide them. They also know how everything else (breath support, rib cage expansion, amount of tension and breath pressure in the throat, tongue tension and position) should feel. There are a LOT of cues for singers that don't rely on hearing.

Same here. Other people don't recognize my voice when it is recorded. Recording devices don't pick up all frequencies with the same fidelity. My mother confuses my voice for other family members on a voice-mail or talking on a phone. She always thinks I'm my sister but she has no problem if we are talking to her from another room. No one, including myself recognized my voice when playing back a bunch of speeches in public speaking class. I only recognized myself because I remembered which person spoke before me.

This makes so much sense. Even in my thirties, people think I’m a kid when I answer the phone, but to me my voice sounds like everyone else’s around my age. There are a couple of positives of sounding like a kid, which is the majority people are nicer to me over the phone , even if I’m calling with a problem. ( I think it’s because most people in general are nicer to children then adults, so with me sounding young they subconsciously are nicer) But being extremely shy means the bad part is my husband always hands me the phone to talk to people if the call isn’t going great, and then jokes about how they’ve all of a sudden turned nice. And my sister and husband both swear that if a cop ever pulls them over and I’m with them to do some of the talking, they never get a ticket, but I think that is more about my attitude towards them then my voice honestly. I’ve tried telling them that if the first look you give them is a death glare your just asking for it to go bad. 😂A little smile and talking to them like you would one of your friends has gotten me out of a lot of possible tickets.
