There's something worse than adultery. Physical abuse is much worse than any adultery. I've seen and heard of many woman who are abused on a daily basis by their patners, some of them die in the process. Man should not lose his life in order to uphold marriage. I don't know why Evang Kesiena has made this issue of marriage and divorce is new hobby horse. I would have loved for him to pray more about sensitive topics such as this one prior to teaching about it. I would have loved also for Aps Arome to at least put his stamp of approval on some of these teachings. We should all be humble enough to admit that the bible was not written in our mother's tongues. We should also be very careful not to put brothers and sisters in bondage as the Evangelist has been doing for a while in the name of "doctrine". I don't have much time, but I will leave a few points worthy ponding over: First of all, Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees. I don't know if it has ever occurred to the Evangelist that Jesus always addressed Pharisees in a certain style and remained consistent with his message to them throughout: "they are hypocrites with evil intentions". Yes for Jesus, it is all about the motives, the intentions, the reason why, the heart. Jesus was not after setting some mystical doctrines about marriage. I really doubt! I have always believed that in the passage that the Evangelist is referring to, adding the word "swiftly" would be appropriate and can help us create some context. After all, it was not said "never". I believe Jesus was painting an image of people who "quickly" get divorced and "quickly" remarry, in which case it is obvious that all the parties involved had ill "intentions" and "fleshly motivation" to begin with. Even the pagans (non-Christians) know very well the importance of remaining single for a while after a marriage has ended. "It is common sense Sir" The same applies to Paul's remarks on this matter. These are very important pearls of spiritual wisdom but I wouldn't use it as hard rules. The Evang Kesiena should never forget that him who is happily married and those who married witches (literally) are all children of the same God. And God's heart is for all of us to be free (whatever freedom means). Paul also said that "if they cannot control themselves let them get married because it is better for you to marry than to burn". My humble question to the Evangelist: Can't the divorcees burn with sexual desires? or in his mind they have ceased to exist as human beings? I have asked him in the past another question: what is the book of Ezras in the bible for? No answers :) If anyone is in a bad relationship right now, please do not despair. Seek for the Lord with all your hear and for who he is. The more you do so, the more the issue of marriage as a whole pales in comparison with the eternal purposes that Lord has bestowed on your life. I believe that this is exactly what Paul is trying to communicate here. See divorce or separation has an opportunity to discover that eternal purpose. To your great surprise, God himself will take care of all the legalities that the Evangelist presents as if they were insurmountable. God knows that two is better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If God has not delivered you from the relationship yet, it could be that it is not as bad as you think. Our Lord speaks. Search for his mind and he will answer you. In closing, this is a very important matter that Evangelist Kesiena likes to approach in a very cavalier way, with indifference sadly. The question of marriage and divorce should not be presented as a singularity, a point where God ceases to exist and becomes suddenly powerless. Being in a bad relationship does not define you. No!

God is truly the author of marriage. If one of the two deceived the orhwr into agreeing to marry, and the are joined by tradition & church joins them. The sripture that says what God has joined does not APPLY in that case. It was deception that joined them not God. Again if the late singer Osinachi had divorced that husband who abused her continually, she would be alive today.

I wonder why as Christians we like opposing God's word and think its not fair, come up with all kinds of justification. We like questioning God's word with an attitude to oppose it not to learn and grow.

Joyce Meyer divorced her ex husband of 5 years and remarried her now husband and they've been married for over 50 years...people may divorce for various reasons, just follow God. Some people have feared walking out of toxic and abusive marriage and died in the hands of their abusers..God hates divorce but i dont think as a loving God, He would enjoy seeing someone staying in an abusive marriage.

The Bible says as long as the divorced persons partner is alive, you cannot remarry. The only thing to do if for the man and his wife to be reconciled with each other or they must remain single until one of them dies. (God doesn’t say you should go and kill your divorced partners). These days alot of celebrities and people get married to divorcees. So they are all commiting sin right?

So basically God does not forgive anyone who gets divorce. That doesn't seem accurate at all seeing that Jesus forgave all sins. Funny, no where in the text did Jesus say this was an unforgivable sin. However we all know that most Christian do not think, they only follow what is being given to them in the name of teaching.

So, the divorced spouse are to just remain single until the other divorce one dies. How long will that be and what if the divorce spouse meets someone who can heal or help them get over their previous marriage. Are they forbidden to remarry? Are they force to go back to their divorce spouse and patch things up though it has never worked?
