Been a river rat for decades, and been through several Jet boats, no way you keep bouncing the bottom of that boat off something at speed you will not end up with leakage! Cool Vid. I've really looked hard at one of these, but, I deal with lots of rocky river beds, and worry it would end up getting more destroyed than the jet.

Yeah, a lot of people talk trash about Predator engines. But in my opinion, they are just as good as Honda. Years ago, I used a 20% off coupon for a predator mower engine. It was about 80.00 total. I didn't expect it to last but a season. I never covered it, changed the oil, plug, and I removed the air filter. That darn thing lasted about 5 years before it started running rough. I purchased another one which is running great. But I believe it started running rough because of worn plug, dirty carb, and/or carb gasket..... Predator motors are solid!

Yeah, I love my long tail. I fish a highly productive river system an hours drive from my suburban home, and it’s many connecting lakes. And it is supremely convenient not to have to be overly cautious of submerged obstacles, or shallow water, as I travel a waterway that conventionally had only been navigable by canoe or kayak. In my state it is illegal to make a wake within 100’ of a shoreline, which effectively makes it illegal to produce a wake in any small river or stream, but sometimes I can’t help myself and open the throttle a bit, speed through the woods. The reactions I’ve gotten from kayakers I come across is mixed. The greatest benefit is Locations that used to take me hours to reach paddling now take minutes.

I guess I don’t have to worry about a gaggle of jokers invading my territory considering I think you’re south of the Mason Dixon Line, but I’m in Michigan. I got my boat beached at a buddy of mine’s place, and one of the biggest conundrums we face is what direction to travel when we launch and what species to target. There is so much opportunity within an hour motoring both upstream or downstream that it actually can become a heated debate.
