So the burned brood habitat looks good however, it looks like there is fescue on the side of the road that wasn't burned. Shouldn't you be trying to get rid of the fescue to?

Yup, but you can't get rid of all of it!

We need to remove predators, predators and more predators. The nests are getting destroyed before they even make it to using the habitat.

Most research actually suggestions that nest predators don't have as much impact on nest success than most people think. That's research done by Dr. Will Gulsby out of the University of Auburn. Dr. Marcus Lashley from the University of Florida is currently conducting research on nest success on the deluca preserve in central Florida. That study will be on going for the next several years. So don't get too caught up on predators, while they do exist, they are not the main driver behind decreasing populations. We would suggest focusing your time and energy on creating good nesting and brood rearing habitat and the turkeys will start to thrive once again!

Only if she would nest in cover like that🤦🏼 My farm got good nesting cover and she decided to nest in a place that weird. Ya know. Lol
