Recently we got the news that Milly Alcock got cast as Supergirl for both the DCU's Superman: Legacy directed by James Gunn and for the movie Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow which does not have a director, but will be written by Ana Nogueira. So, now we have the newest actress announced in the DCU. These are 5 or so reasons on why you should be excited for Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow and for the future of the DC universe.

Correction: Ana Nogueira will be writing the movie, not Tom King.

I think either Greta Gerwig or Bryce Dallas Howard should direct the film. I think it should probably be Greta if she’s interested. After her movie Barbie became such a success, imagine if she cast Ariana Greenblatt, who played Sasha (based on Bratz) from the film, as Ruthye

I'm so excited for Supergirl. Out of all the DCU projects that were announced, this one was one of my least anticipated. As we keep getting closer, I'm getting more and more excited for it.

I still wish that McKenna Grace was cast as Supergirl, but I guess Milly Alcock will do great too since James Gunn said that her audience tape was insane. I DO wish & hope that he casts Ariana Greenblatt, who played younger version of Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War (which Gunn was credited as an Executive Producer), as Ruthye Marye Knoll soon though. She’s a great choice.

Make her flawed and interesting. Give her an internal struggle as well as an external struggle. Make her imperfect. Make her feel surplus to requirements, like a ‘Super Spare’ so she doesn’t try to be anything more. That would be an interesting and compelling character arc. It’s the total opposite with most female superhero characters these days. I hope they pull it off.
