Mother Nature has got the flounder on the move with these cold fronts that have been blowing through lately. Today we're kayak fishing a river on the upper Texas Gulf Coast in search of flounder and redfish. The soft muddy bottom and oyster that lines the river bank is the prime spot to do some catching!

Very nice flounder. Very pretty pattern on it. My pb is 24" and came out of GSP. Maybe thats why I still enjoy GSP with hopes of reliving it.

Did tactics change with flounder over the years. About 10 years ago or so I would watch videos of people feeling a flounder bite and just waiting 7-10 secounds before setting the hook. Have hooks changed or jigs? Now I see the angler just set the hook right away. I'd imagine it helps prevent gut hooking them.

Had a Great Uncle that lived in Brazoria told me, during the winter the mouth of the San Bernard River, and Intracoastal Waterway,is good spot for Redfish

I dont think it got cold enough to kick off the official migration, but probably cold enough to trigger aggressive feeding to fatten up. Congrats on the new pb.
