one important thing about kernel level anticheats - even if you trust the company enough to not use this against you or your privacy, we have to understand that kernel level ac's are a massive target for eventual hacker groups. For me, the question is not if, but what company and when will get hacked. This level of access to your computer is unrestriced, and games that have hundres of thousands of players are simply a big target. I have to admit, that kernel level anticheats are working far superiorly over the 'normal' ones, but i dont thin thats the right way to go.

I remember there used to be a time where in order to play Prime matchmaking you were *required* to have a phone number attached to your steam account. You were only allowed to change the number once every 6 months and many phone numbers were blocked from the system altogether for being insecure. I've never played with so few cheaters as that time, but eventually they removed the phone number only limitation and allowed players that leveled up their account to also play without a phone number, and the cheating problem came right back.

I’m just waiting for Valve to add ”Your enemy player is spinbotting, do you want to surrender” button in to the game. It should take like one person one day maximum to code a spinbot detection and even easier one that detects those shooting guns at much higher rate than intended, it’s so incredible how they simply don’t care.

Solo queuing in premier is so bad. A recent game I played there was eight cheaters in my game. The four cheaters on my team kept asking for me to drop them auto snipers since they kep dying to the enemy teams better cheats. The cheaters on my team and the other team were asking what cfg’s each were using and for each others discords… so cringe this game is done

Another W video Ryder. My biggest problem isn’t with the cheating more or less, obviously it’s a problem. Rather, my biggest gripe with valve was their push to market Premier and CS2 in general as a way to bring the community back together, all in one space, and as a finished product. They even had professional players push the game as a win, that they changed so much, and vac live was going to work. It was all a facade and big marketing scheme. This is what I went to school for, having a good looking product is all fine, dressing it up and having great marketing is a plus. But they sold it as a much more finished product. In which case it definitely was not and we got baited. So I’m not just a negative Nancy, this is what I would have loved to see Valve do to kill platforms such as Faceit and bring the community into one space: •128 subtick (because subtick feels alright but it’s not enough) •Premier AC •Premier subscription (keep the game free, but premier costs money and requires a premier AC creating a barrier for entry) •In game community server (matching that of the new ui and looking good) •Audio included in demos (with the ability to toggle on and off, also don’t know if anyone noticed the demo viewer was so scuffed they cut it half way through the major and you could only watch a few games of the RMR in game) •Overwatch •and for the love of god…a map pool shakeup

I'm pretty sure when CS2 came out, Valve updated VAC to just be a Hello World program. I see people blatantly locking on through walls, report them, and never see a ban. As much as I would love to see new content in the game, I'd rather have a functional anti-cheat

I had a night of cs2 with 2 rage cheaters in a row. Full on scouting us through the map and geometry. Sad state the game is in. Face it for now until valve gets of their pile of money and does something.

I firmly believe that valve needs to stay away from kernel level AC’s the best way to detect a cheat is to build systems into the game itself and the server that can detect abnormal behaviors such as multiple ways to detect bullet spread and if it’s not acting how its meant to or abnormal fire-rates, player turning speeds, and many other common functions. You could even do a basic cone cast to see how often a player is looking at another player through a wall and if that time looking is seen as abnormal that game is flagged and if multiple instances happen in a row the games are sent in for a manual review via an overwatch system or via employees at valve who understand cheaters specifically. This is not a hard problem to solve. Rather than making a software to detect a cheat program make a software that can detect a cheat action. With implementations that limit how far a cheat can go cheaters are brought down to a level similar to a smurf account and this discourages cheating as a whole. Will it still be a problem? Yes always. Will it be mitigated by using game and server functions to simply read abnormalities in a players gameplay? Absolutely. Its been proven to work for throughout gamings life-span. So why deviate now? Why get lazy development wise and just ask for root access to a users computer? It makes no sense when there are more non-invasive ways to do this that could potentially even work in conjunction with lower level AC’s!

My duo and I were doing premier at about 10k-11k and ran into the same cheater 2 games in a row. We even waited after the first one to try and dodge the guy in the next game, but that didn't work. Anyways we got fed up so we packed our sht. Still want our 5v5 bomb defuse fix so yes, we went to Valorant. They both need to learn a lot from each other still but its so nice not seeing cheaters.

CS2 cheaters are more common then CSGO. I took last game with 2 friends before I had to stop, and get ready for bed. I got a spinbotter on my team that tried to play closet cheating at start, ofc silver movement and crosshair placement but most kills death adr, but he ended up cheating last half with auto bhop and spinbot. we won ofc since he cheated. So now the game finished, and I asked the boys to stream the next game in discord since I couldn’t join. they got 7 cheaters in one game, entire enemy was auto bhop and wallhack, used smokes to try getting them zues’d the entire game. Then two on my friends team started hacking back… and this in 14.5K rating (my friends should actually be around 19K including myself). we just got rank reset after the season ended

I don't enjoy the faceit culture much. I just uninstalled entirely.

Up to 15K elo you can play relatively normally, although there are many matches in which the opponents have exceptional game sense, above 15K the drama begins. The funny thing is that at 20k+ cheaters start to have problems

An interesting thing about face-it is it requires your CPU to have TPM 2.0. Thats not an issue for most, But for myself who used to run a i7-7700. I literally COULD NOT INSTALL faceit anticheat..... My processor was physically incapable of it. So me, A previous IM player. COUDNT PLAY WITHOUT CHEATERS. for the game I paid 15$ for. 10 years ago... I ended up upgrading to get around this.... freakin insane. Good video with solid points tho my dude, High end production quality/edits. I am playing only premier. And last time someone was banned from my recent matches was at January 2024 after that date i played over 200 matches there i meet tons of cheaters starting from silvers using wh, to spin bots. And non of them was banned after January, i am confident saying VAC is turned off entirely or it's not been touched/updated since January

I think Valve will do nothing about it because CSGO and CS2 the game itself are not the main priority to them. The real highest priority is the skins market where hundred millions of real money is involve. Enhancing VAC means banning more potential customers resulting less profits. CSGO was running for more than 10 years without any improvement since it was the monopoly for tactical fps genre, until the Valorant got big enough to became a threat. That's why CS2 (CS1.5) is released and and copied some concept such an upgraded graphics, winning rounds 16 to 13, AK47 firing rate feel closer to Vandal etc which is more similar to Valorant to attract old players to come back and new players to try out playing CS2. While FACEIT do not have the skins market, they are focusing on stronger anti cheat and attracting true players to pay for their premium. The stronger the anti cheat, the more profitable FACEIT become. As for the kernel level anticheat is personal choice, those who value and prioritize the fair gameplay will definitely go to faceit and paying for premium. I only use my gaming pc to play game and nothing else, losing to real pros in FACEIT are much better than wasting my time playing with cheaters in premier.

yea no, kernel is a very big risk if hacked, seriusly a danger to your pc and privacy. I love the way vac used to work, i think valve just need to update and use more overwatchers

Cheat coders say themselves that kernel level anti cheats (which are still signature based) are not particuarly more difficult to circumvent than traditional AC. The only solution is some AI or statistical method which is presumably what Valve are working on, fingers crossed.

I have a Windows-Linux dual boot on my desktop, using Linux to work. I simply can't toggle secure boot on, otherwise my GPU drivers won't work properly on Linux. And without secure boot on, Faceit AC doesn't work. So I'm stuck on Premier for the time being, around the 15k rank and facing a cheater almost every other match...

I feel this in my bones. I think the problem is entirely community management based on Valve's end. They need to invest in software tools for moderation, and a large team of community moderators. Who are responsible for dealing with Overwatch style reports, for toxic players, griefing, hacking. They also clearly need to redouble their investment in anticheat. I've been playing with a mate recently. My mate is trash, so it's annoying, we derank hard, because he is trash. Probably won't play with him any more. Whatever. I'm trying to get back to around where I usually sit. I usually float a bit below 10k elo. I think if I didn't have to deal with poor MM and bad VAC, I'd probably max out at about 11k. I'm not a great player, I know what I'm doing, I know my calls, my strats, my lineups, but my mechanical aim is a limiting factor that's going to hold me back. I can live with that. But the games are terribly matched. It constantly finds games where the players have up to a 5k difference in elo. That's ridiculous, that's huge. It's not just lobbied groups causing this, it's constantly an issue with solos. There are sus people. You don't know for sure they are cheating, but you know the system wouldn't stop them, and it tilts your team. I played two games tonight. First one was all shitters. Muted my whole team, and when their griefing got obnoxious, just deagled and spent my time blocking them to get them killed. Valve needs to realise that they only turn normal players into toxic players by not banning the toxic players-one of them is spamming some nonsense about how he is a paedophile in chat. Another is failing to vote kick someone for failing a clutch. Another is complaining about other people's plays after peeking with bomb and giving it to CT. They're all toxic. Why isn't trust factor expanded so that you can put all of these guys into lobbies for them, where it's only toxic players and cheaters? Why are they in general MM? They're teamkilling at round end, teamflashing constantly, they're obvious problem players. You could try to play normally, but then you'd be helping toxic players to get better ranks and disrupt more games. Whatever, even with just messing around trying to get obnoxious teammates killed, we still win like 13:3. Play the next game. Guy on my team afks repeatedly. Hate that. Just permaban them, so tired of the stoners who alt tab, put on youtube and smoke up when they die, and don't realise the next round is starting. Then when he finally starts playing, he's trash for the first round. Then afterwards, he becomes a gamesense god. He gets timinged about once for the rest of the game. Otherwise, he is always looking in the right direction when the enemy appear. His crosshair placement is trash, except when an enemy is there, almost like he can see their outline and only gets the placement right when he can see them. He's exclusively one tapping the AK, and he's only just short of tracing through walls. He does trace several people through smokes and shoots them. He's trying to hide it by spamming smokes, but he always fires rapidly and spammily when nobody is in a smoke, and when they are there it's taps at head height, netting him about 3 kills through the game. It's blatant, and it's obnoxious. He's got 1700 hours on his account, plays like a silver, doesn't understand when to shift walk, fires a rifle like he's Niko. Blatantly cheating. So I spent almost 2 hours on my evening entertainment, spent one game babysitting delinquent children who are verbally abusing people and being obnoxious, and the other, watching a teammate get one tap 3ks while always knowing where the enemy are, and exposing himself to a bunch of angles to do so, that he knows are clear, because he's walling. I download the replay. I watch it. It's all very obvious. It goes from sus, to extremely sus, to blatant as the game goes on. Any overwatch mod would ban him. But there is no community overwatch, and does valve even check reports? And how long has he been doing this? 1700 hours, 40 games on account, this is his main. He is "legit" cheating but only in the thinnest excuse for the word. He clearly walled several people. How has this guy not been banned sometime in those 1700 hours? Why does Valve think people go to Faceit? At least on Faceit, a) you used to have 128 tick, until VALVE sabotaged that. Awful decision Valve. You should have gone with 128 tick+subtick. b) You have proper community management and managers who will ban players for cheating promptly. c) you have a more up to date anticheat than the actual developer of the game can make. I really like CS2. it's the most fun I've had with the game in years, love the new smokes, new util stuff, the map redesigns are very pretty, once they finish tuning them for competitive they'll be neat, the ranking system is more transparent and it's easier to move around ranks. But the way it rewards elo is broken, the toxic players are still there, the cheaters are still there, and at 40-60 minutes a game it's not worth the misery. All so that Valve can make HUGE margins on the product. That's what this is all about: a margin. Valve could still make money paying for a dev team for AC that is twice the size, they could make money with a team of hundreds of moderators. They would still be raking in billions. But they care about the few million off the top actually maintaining their game would cost, so they have an awful community with a cheating problem, which drives away new players. They are really lucky that their competition are either a) Ubisoft and Siege, who also regularly break their game and have huge cheating problems b) Valorant which has rubbish gameplay, worse maps, and messes with the clean simplicity of the format by trying to be a hero shooter and c) COD and other Battle-Royalified shooters trying to be competitive. All it takes is someone who actually gives a damn, coming along and making a knockoff and they could really be in trouble.

Feels like there is no winning wherever I go, half my prem and comp matches are full of high level faceit players and faceit keeps putting me in high level faceit games or with smurfs. Cheating has gotten better lately and it looks like valve has been banning them the last few days but its still unfun because of smurfing.

one problem with faceit is that it doesn't have middle east server like valve, i get 30-35 ms in middle east server compared to faceit eu server 100 ms...

From my recent experience in premier with multiple accounts, in mid-low level premier its quite good experience like 8k-15k, but once you go past 21k which i did, oh boy the clown show starts (EU servers), obvious trigger, wh, spinbots you name it - everything. Thats why for now im not tryharding for high rank, just rather relax and play with deagle or auto shotgun while not actually "smurfing" in lower ranks than deal with cheaters in high ranks

i played 4 games with 3 spinbotters 2 days ago already in 16k elo. everytime i reach close to 20k elo i get spinbotter lobbies and get sent back to 16k elo. i have no motivation to keep playing if there is no way for me to progress anymore.

at first bro we were okay and rarely experienced cheaters in silver MM on Nuke. But more and more have been flooding to regular comp too. we were safe for a bit in low rank but we keep running into cheaters boosting low ranked accounts and it's so bad we're just gonna strictly play on FaceIt servers. which sucks because I don't like having to play every game with meta-level strats and zero fun allowed. But we're sucking it up and dealin' with having to be super competitive about it anyway. :/

I actually grinded premiere for a bit, but getting to higher elos there’s simply always that dude that doesn’t get any kills for 4 rounds, then straight suspicious 4ks and closes the match.

People are even cheating in Casual gamemode. And biggest L is people not kicking them and abuses who calls out them😂.

what about community servers?

Valve could have used server side statistic based anti-cheat a long time ago, for example it worked great in battlefront (FairFight) caught even people with wallhack, not to mention aimbot and spinbot. There have already been enough proven server anti-cheat solutions that even VACNet could gather enough data over 6 years to start banning cheaters. So the current situation with cs and cheaters just looks ridiculous considering the size and available resources of an 8 billion dollar company. But it seems releasing unfinished games with disabled anti-cheat has become popular (right, DICE?).

I doubt valve would make kernel level anticheat because they somehow support linux and that would kill it. I myself would never switch to shitty microsoft os just to play a videogame.

im at 19k elo, EVERY SINGLE game there are multiple spin botters. But by doing so i miss out on weekly drops, xp, and badges. I shouldn't care about this stuff but i like collecting these.

Faceit and valorant only stop rage hacks it does not stop esp(only need to read memory and is way harder to detect), image recognition/color aimbots(no memory needed), direct memory access hacks(exploits computer hardware) and more like people making custom windows builds/VMs to bypass all anticheats

yea just told my friend to get cs as he’s new to pc games but every game is cheaters. So, i tell him to buy prime and there will be less cheaters but thats not the case at all… i’m disappointed really, loved the game and began grinding it before the cs2 update and got mg2. this just isn’t fun and i don’t really want to use a 3rd party software bc my friends are casual players. but we shouldn’t have to just to play valves game.

I'm at 13k and the wildest thing is I can't tell if I'm underranked or not because I keep running into (aside from the cheaters) players with such greatly varying level of skill near my elo that the games regularly decay to chaos of some brand. The cheating is so prevalent that it messes up the ranks all over.

Valorant is filled with cheaters but assumes it's all smurfs because they don't understand that kernel level anticheat is figured out already by cheat developers. There is also EAC which has just as many cheaters. There isn't a silver bullet method and valve understands this and is taking the time cause if they push an anti cheat update and it doesn't have a large impact they will do more harm to the community sentiment.

I've managed to get up to 26k a while ago when it wasnt that bad ( 1 cheater every 2 games) now i have no rank and have abandonned due to cheaters every single game

one time I was playing just a regular game, and one guy was rage/legit hacking, I called him out on it but my team for some reason voted me out, because "they didnt want the cheater to leave"

So its kinda dangerous to have faceit installed ;-; ?

Sadly I can't play FaceIT because I have Windows 11 without the TPM chip, so I have no other choice to play in Premier. 😢

12k Elo, Yesterday 1 spinbotter and 2 legit cheaters in 3 games

My biggest issue with kernel level ac is it seems infeasible to make for windows and Linux. That said, I would love for valve to at least temporarily have kernel level ac for windows only pushing cheaters to switch to Linux so we can finally see the year of the Linux desktop 😂. It can also be a pretty big indicator that the accounts that switch over this time are cheaters.

idc if i m gonna get a lot of hate but as a cheater myself i want to point out some things valve made a huge mistake and that was going from cs1 to 2 and that also means to source 2 because on cs1 cheats were starting to have somewhat of a trouble staying undetected and the anticheat was working in a way when they changed to cs2 everything went down..cheat coders found ways to bring bang exploits like rapid fire,no spread etc the game is basically unplayable

And its always possible for a cheater to ruin your match. I want to say this because Kernel-level anti-cheats aren't a fool proof method, and people need to understand it isn't the only way to implement a "good" anti-cheat. (I'm sure you've also seen the hoards of people spamming cs needs a kernel-level anti-cheat) I'm not defending valve, premier is dog shit and it needs to change. I agree with you on most parts, but kernel-level anti-cheats are not the answer, I hate that it's become almost an industry standard because there are many other ways to prevent cheating but many are taking the easy way out by compromising the security of our systems. As a side note Valorants anti-cheat is actually a lot worse because vanguard (their anti-cheat) must be running since boot. If you turn it off you can't play valorant unless you restart your pc. Unlike most other anti-cheats that require their ac to be on only during play time.

I keep hearing all the time cs have biggest cheating problem of all time but i don't personaly see any more cheaters than i did on csgo. Like i have play 350 games on cs2 and i haven't see any rage cheaters.

Kernel level anticheats just give an edge against cheats which are not running on kernel level themselves. Because most of them do run on kernel level it's very easy for them to prevent detection even if the AC runs on kernel level. Valorant's and faceit's anticheats are better because they constantly update the signatures which valve seems to not have done since they released trustfactor. This whole concept is completely outdated. If you have to add signatures you are always one step behind. It would make much more sense to implement a server side anticheat and just detect the result of a cheat. It needs only a few lines of code to reliably detect aimhacks, triggerbots, speedhacks and spinbots. Even wallhacks could be detected with a little bit of effort.

Remember in CSGO their was private non VAC live servers where they had somewhere to go and HvH..Well they ain’t got nowhere to go apart from high ELO premier…just the guys who are legit good at the game get caught up in it as they fall into the high ELO. Bring back the community servers and that would solve alot of it BUT you’d still get little Timmy wanting to shot on non cheaters so he can type EZ in the chat at end!

Clearly since most of the cheaters are the same rank as me, most people wouldnt be able to keep up with me if they werent cheating, and I'd have no one to play against. So really, who cares? They're at my rank, then they're my skill with their cheats idc I have someone to play against.

First ,i played FACEIT and cheaters are there also ,a lot of them . Yes ,i love this game ,i play this game for almost 20 years ,and it is the only shooter i play . It is filled with cheaters ,mostly in Premier Mode ,yes ,that is correct !! Lately i found myself in matches with full team cheaters on both sides ,for more than 3 months this is daily ,full team cheaters on both teams . It is unplayable at this point ,CS2 is a major crap ,just because of the cheaters ,the game itself its ok . I dont think every time i get shot that they are cheating ,no ,i just think maybe that guy is better than me or he just got lucky ,or i just shoot to bad ,or i did something wrong ,but never i think first hand that they are cheating . Cheaters almost every games, funny thing is, almost all of them are closet, but are really extremely bad at hiding it, it's honestly kind of funny, but also weird, what happened to the days where every cheater would just be a spinbotter or blatant, and how come all of them are closet cheating silvers? is there just some free / trial cheat out there that all the bad players are currently using?

Whats funny is that when you turn off your anti-virus to play with most cheats in CS2 this will cause the Riot Client to restrict you from playing their games and you will need to restart your computer. I have to do that all the time I want to actually play legit on Valorant. Honestly I dont even remember what got me into cheating on CSGO. I'm surprised Valve doesnt target all the main public cheats as of right now. Like Neverlose, Aimware and any other bullshit public cheats. The cheating community thinks Valve is incompetent when it comes to their anti-cheat and detecting cheats. For years there have been people like you asking Valve and even cheat developers telling Valve that they need to fix their Anti-cheat. I mean hell even some developers gave Valve fixes for some exploits on their game which lead to a giant change in the hvh community.

Players from India has no choice whatsoever in this matter. We have two servers in India, the server in which I get lower ping (10-15ms) has a consistent 6-10% packet loss. Since we cannot select servers in Counter Strike, I cannot join the other server (30-35ms average ping) but has zero packet loss. Faceit has no Indian server, so we are forced to play on Singapore, Indonesian or Dubai servers on high ping and extremely unpleasant racists. I don't want to watch CS die but this is just disgusting behavior on Valve's end to neglect a playerbase like this. You would expect them to fix the packet loss issue at the very least, but nah, it's there. I know that it's not my ISP because I get 0 loss in Valorant or in Faceit or community servers.

The game is dying. Hitting record numbers despite less people playing than CS2 launch, casual and DM lobbies are filled with Bot accounts farming cases. Its insanity.

Nah just play some other games and wait 3 years for the game to be patched or dies. Either way we got our fun in cs go
