For some reason once a month I have this game where my aim is so insane it looks and feels like aimbot. Every enemy I see instantly dies from one bullet effortlessly. I don't know why I get those games and why they're so rare. I think it has to do with the flow state. And it's not because I warmed up more before those games. I hadn't changed my routine at all and that insane aim disappears the next game most of the time, which is why I think it's weird...

Very informative and very true! I definitely don't play as well when I'm tired after work, and even though I only started this year I already experienced burnout a while ago. Just not playing for 3 days helped me come back to the game more motivated. It was hard to force myself to not play but in the end it's worth it.

As someone who doesn’t really play Val and plays Overwatch instead, the same things really apply and that burnout part really spoke to me. Since its a weekend I foolishly spent 13 hours playing when I really shouldn’t, and ended up staying way later than I should’ve. But it was all because my ranked games weren’t going as I had wanted, and I just continued to fall and fall, until I genuinely teared up because there were games where I could do everything in my power and we still lose. I would really love to take a break from gaming but it always calls to me and I can’t help but want to improve, and that want is addicting, especially for a perfectionist like me.
@MTT563

I recommend taking up model kits as a hobby, like Gunpla. I have the same kind of thing for me, and having a space where I can just unplug and occupy myself and my perfectionist urges with something relaxing and low pressure, something I can really take my time on, helps immensely. Just make sure you have a situation and setup that allows you to put it down and come back to it, like a personal spare desk or a box to store it in, otherwise the need to finish it in one sitting can be its own form of addiction…

You raise some VERY good points. Valorant is a very difficult game to progress in without meeting various criteria first. Summary + my personal input as someone whom has played VALORANT both competitively and casually for thousands of hours: - Your mood is very likely to become a factor that affects how you play the game, whether it's something that you can see or not. The single most important condition to meet is to be CALM. If you are calm, then you will have an easy time developing the right attitude and mindset towards this game. This will help you massively, and in the long run, will help you learn how to avoid tilt and stress even in the most intense situations. Staying calm will also help minimise the chance of you hitting any "roadblocks" in your gameplay. - Distractions may come in many forms, both conscious and subconscious. Naturally, it will be harder to focus on the game if you have something that you're putting off for later, especially when that thing has a set deadline. This topic also ties in to changing up your setup/settings too frequently. Changing up the way you usually play will in most cases be a mild to medium distraction, as you will not be used to that new setting. Obviously, other distractions include noise in the house, music, too vibrant monitor colour settings, etc. With most competitive shooters, it is VERY important that you at the very least get all of your responsibilities out of the way first, before playing. You should not have ANY worries at the back of your mind, and your only concern should be how you will win your current Competitive match, while feeling as comfortable as possible in the process. Your settings & setup should feel NATURAL and you shouldn't feel any discomfort. *Having no distractions will also help you with staying calm as you will have no deadlines or any set time when you have to stop playing. It's interesting, but a bunch of these points actually tie-in closely together, having a sorta "multiplicative" effect the more of these criteria you meet, and also helping you create and understand what the IDEAL competitive gaming environment & conditions are, so that you actually have the most pleasant/easy time consistently improving at the game.* - Sleep, diet and lifestyle are the most overlooked aspects I think. You may not realise it because you may be used to your current mental state and focus, but mental clarity, focus, or the "flow state", are something that can only be attained on a good enough diet, and a good amount of sleep. It becomes MUCH harder if you're lacking the essential nutrients and sleep. Not to mention that your reaction speeds become slower, you may struggle to focus/think, and you may experience fatigue after only a few Valorant games, forcing you to take much longer breaks than most people would. Certain junk foods aren't actually the worst things you could eat. A good diet is much easier to accomplish than people realise. If you don't like your vegetables, just cut them up into smaller pieces and mix them with whatever else you're eating. Obviously, make sure the vegetables you're eating are nutritious. Spinach is the best example. Meats, carbs, protein, vitamins, fruits, simply having a varied diet will most likely make it a GOOD diet. And it's also much more enjoyable this way, than just eating oats every day for breakfast. - How many hours of sleep you need to have will depend on you as an individual. Some people will be fine after 6 hours of sleep, others need at least 9 hours to feel well-rested. - I experienced burnout once. While it is important that you play consistently and regularly for the most steady improvement, you will simply be wasting time if you're going into your games while you DON'T want to play. There is no need to force it, and it will almost always be a terrible idea. I only grind the game when I feel like it, this gives me more than enough breaks to completely prevent burnout, and the reward from the regular breaks may not be easy to "feel", but through meeting all of the criteria that the video goes over, you are maximising your chances of those "rewards", to the point where it's almost 100% likely to help you shoot up in ranks. Someone who is aiming for Radiant will actually have a slightly easier time if they follow everything here. But obviously, there are other criteria that must be followed, such as, actually seeking the RIGHT resources in order to help you improve at the game, IF you are someone who is struggling to see progress. This most commonly applies to newer players.

Muscle memory is what I strive to get first when I hop into any video game wiith any type of control scheme I got the steam deck and I had never played shooters on controller I took the first few days to get muscle memory and I still don't use the giroscope well enough the rest I use good but I have been trainning several different games and game genres and the last few days it felt like even playing just 1 hour was leaving me really tired and I was like shit I burned myself out again have been watching anime as a break from gaming to just let the burnout pass and too be honest I have been loving handheld gaming so much because of the steam deck that I'm going to save money for other handheld to play all the games I have that only run on windows(like valorant I miss my skins but my laptop is slowly dying and can't handle val anymore ☹️) but I'm only thinking of a gaming handheld because I built muscle memory and feel more confortable playing a bigger range of games with this controls. But in terms of burnout you must take that seriously because I made myself into my own test subject I was burned out in League of Legends and forced myself to play for 1 month while burned out from it while normally I would be able to take 2 or 3 days of break or max a week and be alright, after 1 month of playing while burned out when I took a break I couldn't start playing again for 3 weeks because the burnout was much bigger and passing way slower than if I just took a break forn 2 or 3 days. But still despite not playing for 3 weeks and not knowing what was good I was able to get back into the game and with the muscle memory and the improved mental status I was able to crush the first games like it was nothing to a point that I could see the improved performance like I hadn't even stopped. My little brother swaps his settings everyday while I adjust my settings when I first start a game then I never change them again my little brother keeps stuck in any game he plays while I am able to improve faster since I'm not hindered by constant setting changes even if it's a game and for some it's just a game for me it's my passion and so like work when you play, play smarter not harder for the best improvements.

Dude, this is just bending over backwards. I'll NEVER admit it's my fault unless VALORANT comes out with full transparency as to how I lose a gunfight. I have NEVER done any warmup ever. I play at a set time in the morning, so my mind's always in the same mood. And I play while listening to same set of music, to put myself into exact same conditions. I haven't changed my KB+M over 6 months. And it still happens. GAME ITSELF IS HIGHLY INCONSISTENT. There's no other conclusion. I have played CSGO the exact same way for a year before this and it was highly consistent.

All I’m saying is I be dropping 40 then very next game I get running 1 tap’d prefired like it’s rainbow. But some days I’m getting just shot trough smokes consistently or my internal clock is off and I can’t get the timing with my team right. Some fixes I found to these problems were playing less games like I used to play 3-5 games everyday now I play 2-4 games only when I’m feeling 110% and stop playing once my form or mental starts dropping. You can call it cope but I’m on 90ping and it makes the game a lot different when playing against a 4ping and a 30ping team. I’m buying ops and sheriff more when the other team has higher ping. But if they’re on lower ping I’m buying a Odin and judge more to compensate for the peakers advantage they single digit players have against me. I don’t think ping diff isn’t as bad as everyone says but when the other team has the better skill and ping it can get frustrating that the ping is helping the team that doesn’t need it. As for finding the rhythm of attacks or retakes with my team I just do a count down 3,2,1. And it kinda fixes the timing so we’re more in tune with each other but it can’t beat a team that played together for a long time. I’m only gold but I was diamond before I sort of gave up on ranking up and play ranked for fun. Because sometimes it’s not fun to try to work together with your team and you want to just duo with a friend and run some insane plays.

I'm pretty sure it's just whether my opponents are good or not. I miss shots mainly based on how good my opponents are at strafing. Or how bad my teammates are , sometimes they do stupid crap and start blaming me for it so I start aiming at legs. Throw the match, but don't look like you're doing it. I do play much better when I'm pissed off though, because I actually want to kill as much as I can.

@@KfooYaFlight no, it's really rare to get that type of teammates. Especially 4 of them at the same time. In that specific match I actually played with everyone on the opponent team before. And 2 of them had played with my teammates before lol. They whispered to me asking if my teammates were blaming everything on me. The other neon literally asked me if the Reyna had walked into my q and then blamed me for it yet lol. Reyna uh, threw the eye inside Jett's smoke at the entrance to A on Lotus and then walked into the relay bolt that I threw to hit the Jett because I knew what Jett was doing from playing with them. Jett was upset that she didn't just start firing since she would've gotten the Reyna kill before getting headshot by me. There are just these 5-8 players that really blame everyone for everything and tell people to uninstall even though they cause all the problems, some of the players I played with have left the match after seeing 3 of them on the team. I cannot begin to explain how dumb they are, they make some of the new players I meet look good. Literally Omen walked through b towards c when the spike was planted so Gekko, probably the only one of these idiots that isn't throwing, just very toxic walks towards c knowing they planted there. For some reason, Omen then says b and then walks back to b, sits there as Gekko gets shot up 1v3 and then teleports a little bit in front of himself. I think they're just trolling people at this point.

People need a stronger mental and more realism in their expectations. To rank up you might have to give 100% effort at times... but you can't stay at 100% 24/7. Just not how people work. Most people only have like 2-5 hours of concentration in them before they lose productivity. Stop instantly queueing after every game. Take some breaks and do some shooting practice or a DM/TDM. Your mind has probably gone on auto-pilot from non-stop playing. Heck go outside for a walk or watch a quick episode of something. Just give your mind a break. Think of it like working out. You don't just pump weights 24/7. You need rest time to let your torn muscles heal. If you get in a slump -- find a way to reset and get out of it. Go focus on something else for a while. Also doesn't hurt to have something that puts you in a more focused mode or stimulates your brain. Think of your brain as an engine. Just try to rev it up a bit before going back in. Maybe learn how to Rubix cube.

I started to warm up kill, 100 bots 2X before a ranked games then after a few matches do 100 more bots. I dont like tdm or death match becuse it gives me bad habits like wide swinging when I shouldn't and "run it down" instead of just holding or being smart. I do 200 at the start because the first 100 I focus on speed and the second time I focus on accuracy I re warm up after matches to more or less cool down and regain my mental

tdm is actually extremely good for warming up, if you go against real players you'll get punished for actions like not strafing correctly or bad positioning, also teaches util usage and timing. im only diamond 2 so im definitely not the best but its helped me out alot with practicing crosshair placement and raw aim
