My man, I usually don't comment on videos but you have made me enjoy league a whole lot more and I wanted to thank you. You released a 2hr video on how to climb with shen in different elos and I started watching that over and over on the side despite never having played shen against a human player ever. Your voice is relaxing asf and your general philosophy (like for example the difference between fault and responsibility) made me look at my play in a whole different way and helped me to stop tilting. My highest rank ever is gold 4, however I just view ranked mode as normal mode with better matchmaking so that is fine. I still love improving my gameplay though, it's the only reason to keep playing imo. So yesterday I got tired of my morde jgl OTP and went with shen on the top lane, having the time of my life. The first game was a loss, but it was then followed by 3 wins immediatly. I even ran into a vayne top and my head immediatly went to "I am not the win con here, I should sit back and give up as much farm as it takes to just stay safe, looking for good resets to keep my TP up for maximum impact and actually managed to not tilt at all. Thank you so much for all this free content you provide, and for being an awesome member of the community!

what a shame, january 10-16 is the worst week for me, i voted for another one. Have six days to work with nighttime work. I wish all fun and that they work out to be better. hope there is another one with you Xpetu, would definitly sign up for it.

I ‘d like to note again the 10 tips for climbing from Petu from his most recent guide: 1. Disable chat completely and communicate with pings 2. Assume that every game is winnable until one of the nexuses explodes. 3. When you have to choose between similar plays, choose the one with the fewest unknown variables. 4. Take risks when behind, avoid risks when ahead. 5. Forgive your mistakes but hold yourself accountable. 6. Identify the winning conditions of both teams and play accordingly. 7. Never play Ranked when you are tired, angry or anxious. 8. Have a primary and secondary champ. Dodge if both are unavailable. 9. After each game write down some notes and take a break. 10. Stop playing for the day if you lose 2 games in a row. Bonus: Identify current objective, split push opposite side and ulti when needed. One thing I noticed his team and all chat was enabled. The GP said just ff and it would be better for your focus if you couldn’t see that. This coaching has been a great learning opportunity for me so far.

One of the main takeaways that i had watching this video is that queueing duo while playing Shen makes you weaker at playing the champion. Many times our friend hesitated because he didn't have "comms" or was expecting something external to prompt him to play to his capability. We saw him express mechanical proficiency with his champion, but he lacked the proactive play to put the enemy team on the back foot. It can be pretty challenging to make the shift from a more passive playstyle to a more deliberate one, and this coaching session really highlights that. Hopefully Thomas is able to internalize the lessons here and get real value out of his experience with Petu, though it seems like he might need some time to break his bad habits. Something that appears to be consistent through many different games, is the importance of tempo and knowing your win conditions(or your "outs", for escaping bad situations). That Thomas had not internalized the importance of denying barrels [as was later pointed out in the analysis] was perhaps the greatest contributing factor to the overall loss of the lane and later the game. Perhaps that is a takeaway for Petu? Having a "build in a can" for the player to go off of during the game, or directing purchasing pre-emptively so the focus can be on execution of play in the game. Save build path, deviations and related discussions to post game, where time is "cheaper"; it was made evident through the course of this game, and reinforces messaging from previous videos about the importance of timing in league of legends. Knowing when to spend the time to explain something is the coaches version of being deliberate and proactive with their "gameplay".

I would like at least 2 games in a row for next coaching video. I love your respect for lower elo players, your in depth explanations, and how you don’t treat him as a child but as a student. Single game coachings always feel like it’s all about one matchup, and once you get behind, there is no way to implement the things learned.

So how do you get the privilege to get coached by the man the myth the legend himself Xpetu ? Love your vids and keep up the good work, much love man you make life easier to live.

Something small that I didn't see mentioned but figured out in my own games: If you get hits on minions early while you're looking for (but not engaging in) trades, or get an AA on a minion as soon as you get to your wave, it will immediately start stacking grasp's timer which means you can apply the pressure of having grasp up almost as soon as you're in lane and have can start almost any trade with a grasp proc. Little thing but since I became aware of it it's made short trades a lot easier to get off.

I played Shen after watching your and Neace's videos, played like 200 games... and switched to Garen) Shen is fun but i can't find a way to win on tanks in soloq, i was stuck in a coinflip 50% winrate, now with Garen i have 60% winrate and at least S- almost every game. Still love Shen for deleting Irelia or GP from time to time))

So to improve combat, map awareness, and overall fun in game, it comes down to the choice to try to improve

Xpetu a very good video from you would be the explanation what mythic you should build when and why. When the demon embrace and such is good. Itemization is the part I find a bit hard to know since I've seen you having diffrent mythics diffrent builds. I think we seen players would love to see such thing where you explain Itemization

I've been running Titantic after Frostfire and boots for wave clear. Also I haven't seen you take Demonic a lot of games like in your build video you suggest.

Since I watched your videos, I rarely lose a game with Shen There are even games where I don't know how I make those plays (and then I remember: xPetu, he taught me this) Now I only lose with champions like Illaoi because she is a problem in the line phase

Next coaching video: showing one trick Shen players innovations with their build that better match their play-style, consisting of Game 1 where you mostly watch and let it play out normally, and Game 2 where you change the build/runes. Maybe instead of in depth analysis looking at every fight (which takes time), just ask the viewer the question: “Which mistake do you think had the most impact?”

My issue with Shen at any elo lower then plat, is he is so heavily team reliant, it's like playing on hard mode. There is vastly easier champs to climb on.
