I only mow in 1 neighborhood with 75 homes. I currently mow 25 of the property’s, so we can drive the mowers from house to house. I’m only 15 though. We charge 60/hour with 3 man crews for 1/2 acre-2 acre property’s, and have a $45 minimum.

Route density is the game . When you shrink your area, you increase profits. Took me a couple of years to get them all in a tight area

I forget what your rule of thumb is for revenue to labor ratio, is it labor no more than 1/3 of revenue?

Depends on service type. For mowing, under 40% is great

Yesss! Great video. 60 an hour is too low in this day and age though. ;) 75 is the new 60.

The math is sick with regards to route density. Last week we were 43% loaded labor which includes the office manager, owner salary AND ops manager.

I only have one problem with the video. If it takes you 30 minutes to get to your first job. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to get back. Start at the farthest site and work your way back or vise versa. Either way drive time to first job and drive time from last job shouldn't be the same. I agree with everything else on this video
@kennethalynn
@kennethalynn 2 жыл бұрын
I see your point, but my Tuesday route is 40 minutes to first job, big loop around town (26 jobs) then 35 minutes from last job to home. So it just depends on a lot of things.
@danieladam2934
@danieladam2934 2 жыл бұрын
@@kennethalynn my point made though . Your start drive time and end drive time are different. Maybe only 5 minutes but still different.

For 2 guys in a truck $25 per 10 mins $150 per hour... no gate drops less than $75 ... $900 8hr day 6 ground hrs even with your 2hr waste... I believe Mike is spot on with the professionalism.... Uniforms, branding, strong digital presence, office administrators, customer support etc.. Customers are willing to pay these prices with the added value of professionalism
