Hedonism is a way of life and many people confuse hedonism with debauchery and a destructive way of life. However, other forms of hedonism are not far from searching for a life well-lived.

I have a exuberant personality type ( artistic temperament ) which is a subcategory of hedonism. I avoid pain and seek pleasure.Strangely, while I can google this I haven't found any videos on my personality.

Me, an All Tomorrows fan looking at this: Yes, that really is the best new human species you could become. (In case you don't know, there's this human species from All Tomorrows that are literally called Hedonists. Look it up if you're curious about them, although I will let you know that there's a reason why they're called "Hedonists".)
@idlethoughts
@idlethoughts 2 жыл бұрын
Haha, the best human species? I guess you could say that, but pain is there for a reason. Somebody not able to feel pain would always damage their body and I don't think that's good either, so yeah...haha

Btw, I think being a rational hedonist is a key to a fulfilling life. Although I don't really agree with removing pain altogether, because pain is there for a reason. Without pain we'd damage our bodies just like the girl who chewed her own tongue because she couldn't feel pain as a baby. It's kinda sad since the doctors had to remove all her teeth.

Damn is it possible to have 2 different personalities with 2 different traits. Part of me feels hedonist but in the same breath I can never let myself fully experience pleasure for some reason it scares me.

it is not that you have two different pwersonalities, it is that you have an intellect, which knows hedonism is a bad idea, and a wioll that wants it anyway.

My entire life ALL ive wanted an cared about is physical pleasure I even planned to never have kids and keep my responsibilities to a bare minimum JUST so i would be able to focus on fun an pleasure for my entire life But man why is it STILL so fcn hard to be able to live like that all the time Trying to feel good all the time is just non stop problems!! I don't care if it's wrong or bad to want to live like that!! It's WHAT I WANT!!!!!

I don't know, it's just not sustainable given how we're built. But if you wanna do it, then go for it, as long as you're not destroying yourself that is

You’ll never be happy. Wanna know why? Because pleasure goes away immediately, so you spend most of the time chasing it, and it’s never enough to satisfy you. The search for pleasure is a search that can never truly be satisfied, so it’s essential a personal hell. You’ll never know the true inner peace and fulfillment you get once you break free from the shackles of desire… if you continue down this path

I had sex last night it was regular but for some reason I kept getting nausea when I was close to climax. Overall turned me off and being that I'm a crazy nympho I saw it as saturated chemistry and was overall unpleased. And unimpressed.
