I love my V40! It took me a little bit to get used to the notch, but it stopped bothering me fairly quickly. This phone is a BEAST!

The custom settings on the LG cameras are amazing. I do a not of product photography for my online store and being able to adjust the white balance and shutter speed is crucial to make the white background pop. I'm using a V20 so the V40 must be awesome!

I honestly agree with you. Price wise yes a person can come up on the v40 especially if they already don't have it or looking to upgrade to a flagship phone for a reasonable price. I honestly like both phones I have the LG g7 now and I love it. I wanted to upgrade to the s10 plus but I honestly didn't know if I should wait for the v50 that's around the corner. Knowing what I know about LG camera set up you get alot more control over them then you would over anyone else cameras on other phones like Apple, Samsung, etc.

Nice opinion Forbes !! LG never bought out the V40 to Australia the V30 was not a good seller and the G7 flopped too. Another big shop Jb Hi fi bought it in the V40 last month in small numbers but its not doing well lol. One annoying thing about my LG V30 thinq is the apps Never work. It's as if instagram and snapchat never get optimized. Nothing but issues with those apps. Over a year of never having a functioning instagram/snapchat. I don't think I can do LG again if the apps never work properly with the phone.

The V40 was bought renewed on Amazon as a holdover until the Note 10+ came out... and after using it, I think Im going to be using this V40 for a lot longer than anticipated. So much value for money and I prefer Samsung..but it is a frivolous and lateral switch. Ill wait for the Note 11, until then the V40 is awesome

V20 here comparing before upgrade. I like the v40 but s10+ looked the same but more RAM. However I hate TouchWiz appearance and love audio capabilities of lg so I'll probably go with v40

Haven't seen the display for the S10+, but the display on my V40 is simply beautiful. S10+ resolution is 3040 x 1440. V40 is 3120 x 1440. You also did not mention that the V40 ppi is 537, while the S10+ is only 522. And yet you say the S10+ has a better display with the lower resolution?

Getting a new phone my v20 had better days. Looking at the s10+ or the LG v50 but maybe after this video ill throw in the v40 as a new contender.

Really enjoyed this video. I understand your not saying that the V40 is better than the S10 but it is a great alternative. I've watched many videos on the S10 range now and I have to say I feel slightly underwhelmed by them. I enjoy my S9 but next time I'm going to try something different and get a different experience with it. There is so much choice of there now is confusing. One thing I don't want is a bloody notch, pin hole or pill slot or whatever you call them in my display. I hope your week started well for you. 👍🙏

The LG V40 is good....but then I learned about Secure Folder feature on samsung devices lol. Now I cant help but want anything except for samsung. Well, with the exception for Xiaomi devices and its Second Space feature. When you live with family that stops at nothing to go through your phone, a feature like those are life savers lol.

This video makes no sense. Heres why: v40 over s10: -Pro mode on video/pics -Literally half the price -even though its only an 845 snapdragon processor, lg overclocks it to 2.4 ghz (slightly faster than the s10 but less effecient) -quad dac (trust me it makes a HUGE difference with headphones) s10 over v40: - huge battery in comparison (both have a 6.4 inch screen but the s10 has 4100 mah battery of LG 3300 Mah battery. Thats a 20% size difference in battery capacity . Its huge - newer oled screen (to the naked eye theres no difference, I agree. Most Oleds in general are beautiful to look at but it is a thing -newer processor (again, coupled with the fact that its more efficient , theres a bigger battery in here. -wider aperture on the cameras ( your photos get more light and actually come out wider in wide mode) -in screen finger print scanner (this helps when its laying flat. for me not a big deal, for others maybe -more ram, I think the default model on both is 4gb vs 6 or 8gb on the s10 but its more either way -design (sorry, people in general prefer the punch hole over the notch. Not a huge deal to me , since I prefer the tear drop in the center over both but still matters. - The UI on Samsung is actually better. More gesture control, no need to go into options to switch certain bluetooth/wifi devices, just more user friendly. Im not saying the LGv40 isnt a great phone. I have a v30 and I have tested these both out and have been looking for a new phone. But to say lgs manual mode is better than the battery capacity of a s10+ is insane. My Advice? go for the LG g8. Its the best of both worlds. Selling at areound $600 in most places with a 3500 mah battery, slightly smaller 6.1 inch screen, and the same 855 snapdragon effecient processor as the s10. Is it a 4100mah battery? no but from my experience LG is better at sipping battery than Samsung and also with a newer chipset and a smaller screen than the s10+ it makes the playing field a bit more level. .03 of an inch screen will draw less power and the battery gap is only 600 mah as opposed to 800 mah.

That wasnt a S10 plus you were using for this video, when you showed the display screen the V40 was much bigger, both phones have a 6.4inch display screen, go back and look at your video.

I bought my V40 on pre release - only issue I have is only 64gb of internal storage - for a flagship I find this unacceptable. Got a free 256 GB micro SD card, but that's not the point. South Korea got 128gb storage - why leave US out? Everything else I love - wish it had a bigger battery - got a Zerolemon 5200 mhp case to fix that for $40.00 on Amazon. Nobody in the industry beats the 32 bit Hi-Fi quad DAC . My headphones and Ear buds ROCK! Tried others but LG wins this hands down. I had Samsung - not my thing anymore. Overpriced - my opinion.

I played around with the S10 plus when it dropped and I was unimpressed. The LG V40 to me is a better phone despite being released 5 months ago, cameras are good the battery life is stellar despite being only 3300mAh I get all day battery life with KZfaq, chrome, Facebook, music player, Instagram and play store opened in the background. Screen is immaculate I use this phone allot, I think Sprint jerked me with the price when I got but that's another story😆. The audio is phenomenal especially with the DAC, the Boombox speaker sounds great, the notch isn't a big deal I like it over the hole punch which is essentially A NOTCH but that's here not there😆. Uh overall this phone is still a great phone and is a great value for those looking for a newer phone to upgrade to without spending a fortune. P.S. every O.E.M. copies what LG does but they don't get any credit for it smdh🤪

You should actually buy the LG V30 instead. The snapdragon 835 is good enough to run everything smooth (even for daydream VR), it has better battery life, better design and it's waaay cheaper. And the size is more comfortable too, imho.

If your video was about saving money and still being able to own a phone with 5 cameras I can see this video making since. That's not the case in your video, It should have been how spend less and still own a flagship in 2019 with 5 cameras.

Lmfao this video makes no sense at all no matter how much control you have over the V40 cameras will not make it better then the S10 period and I owe both of them. Starting off the front facing camera on the V40 is bad very bad and for you tell ppl that makes your video wrong without value lol. The cameras on the back of the V40 are ok but no where near what you can get off the S10 hands down. I owed every V series that came since the V10. So it's not like I hate LG. The valid reasoning you had was the pricing and that's where the train stops. If you wanted to use the G8 or G7 I can see it a lil bit but the V40 you make your video without merit and makes no damn sense at all.
