Hi, cool video! As a heavy consumer of KZfaq content, I can say the quality of your first video is pretty high. You made some excellent points and I agree with most of them. I thought about starting my own channel at several points in my life. I just think it’s fair to mention some of the potential downsides. - You can get hooked on seeing your view or subscriber count go up. - You may start feeling bad when some videos underperform. It’s pretty hard to avoid this feeling even if you’re anticipating it. - You may get emotionally drained by seeing negative comments. - You may start tailoring your content to what brings you more views, rather than making what you enjoy. - You may start making life decisions guided by video making. - You may become preoccupied with thinking about whether you should be filming right now. - Special moments can become an opportunity for filming rather than something to enjoy in the present. From the view of utilitarianism, your videos would still likely increase happiness on the societal level. But it’s another matter whether they would still increase happiness to your own life. Having said that, I think that simply being aware of these downsides and reevaluating regularly could help prevent them from getting out of hand. Also, the motivation for why someone is going into KZfaq plays a big role. If the honest answer is self-documentary, it’s easier to remain immune from these downsides. But if there isn’t clarity on that, it’s easy to start dreaming of making a living from KZfaq, being famous, getting attention etc. I should probably also mention that there are some privacy risks. Sharing your life online, even if done with a fair deal of forethought can turn up in ways that aren’t always easy to predict. Maybe I should have made a KZfaq video on this topic rather than just commenting 😊 Good luck on your KZfaq journey.

Wow, thanks for the kind words! I've tried to create this video to the best of my abilities, and I think it turned out quite well. You've definitely made some good counterarguments, and perhaps I should have indeed stated them in this video, but this video was already turning out to be quite long, so I decided not to go over them. Maybe I'll cover them in another video, or this could be a great opportunity for you to start your KZfaq journey 😉. For now, I'll pin this comment so that those interested in creating a KZfaq channel can read this as well. As you stated in your comment, I fully agree that being aware of the downsides and reevaluating on a regular basis can help prevent "KZfaq performance addiction" from getting out of hand. Luckily for me, KZfaq metrics are not that important, as in my 10 years of creating KZfaq videos, none of my videos have ever gone viral in any way, so progress was always either very slow or nonexistent for months on end. Yet, 10 years later, I'm still creating videos. To me, the whole process of creating videos has always been more important and has always been a creative outlet, so even if in 10 years nobody is watching my videos, I'll probably still be making them just for the fun of it. I do fully agree that creating videos about your journey can take you out of the moment, and also the privacy concerns cannot be taken lightly. For me, my channel is not so much about presenting to the world what I've done and where I've been, but more about my personal journey-who I am and what I've learned. So, I probably won't be doing too many vlogging-style videos, and thus I won't have to worry about everything being made into a video. Anyway, thanks for your reply, and if you ever decide to start your KZfaq journey, I wish you good luck as well.

Man oh man, creating this video took soooo much time, I've been out of practice for so long! This was probably the fifth time I reshot the video before I was somewhat satisfied and I'm still cringing big times!!!
