You can scuba dive pretty much anywhere that there’s water which means that you’ll find divers all around the globe but when the temperature drops a wetsuit just won’t cut it. Wetsuit technology is pretty swish nowadays with thermal linings that reflect heat back at you and clever seals that hold the water in place so it doesn’t flush through your suit but even a 7mm will feel cold below 10°C before long.
Wetsuits are synonymous with scuba divers and work by trapping a layer of water over your body and tiny air bubbles act like double glazing by slowing heat transfer outwards. But there are suits that are more efficient than wetsuits and they are drysuits.
