Hey, I was a player during the Alpha to a little after official launch and I think I can guess exactly why the game really failed to take off. Honestly, I'm surprised and happy the game is doing as well as it is after it's been basically LFD for so long now. Anyway, I was among the first players who took red decks, specifically Red/Yellow seriously. The feel I got from the community (which at the time when I played were the likes of CVH, Swiddy, Bradfordlee, Justin, Charm3r, etc) was that Direwolf was taking too actually release the game. It stayed in beta for a very long time, long enough that it got like an expansion while in beta iirc. The mobile version of the game would also take a very long time to release, and no one liked using the bethseda launcher. The Prophecy mechanic was also kind of disliked back then a reasonably strong Blue focused deck that focused heavily on the mechanic was floating around, not to mention that Blue/Yellow was among the most powerful decks (along with Green/Purple) in the game. At least until three key cards (Mantikora, Takzad, and Hist Grove got nerfed). But in the end I'd say the slow progress meant that not enough eyes got on the game early enough.

Great , I love this game and sadly deleted it not long after it stopped receiving support , but this video randomly popped up for me and made me download it again and I’m so glad I have! I’m gunna be the one in ladder with the token deck😅 Thankyou!

Having played the game since release there is one big advantage to playing a game in maintenance mode which is that you no longer have to worry about keeping pace with the newest expansion. I found that events are a great way to get resources, if you go even then you get free stuff. The game is still fun to come back to and it isn't that hard to max out a collection.

we just need ONE balance patch to fix invasion decks, they're so annoying to play against

Bethesda said 2019: "We decided to put any new content development or releases on hold for the foreseeable future". So, we might see new content someday. They also released the game on Chromebook back in 2020. At least that's a sign they had no plans to kill the game back then.

I miss the good old days of Ebonheart Slay decks.

Been playing over 5 years game is become a total mess all about action spam and card removal. No longer about actual skills and tactics.

Is a great game played for a couple months but the fact they don't update it or add anything new is why this game has become stale . Just some new cards evey once in awhile would make it so much better its a waste of a potentially great card game

The real reason why we should play TESL in 2023 is because... well, we are living in the end days. Might as well have some fun before it's all over. So guys, here's what you should do : Ask Jesus Christ to forgive every bad thing you have ever done in the past, and ever bad thing you will do in the future. Then, you will be set for eternal Life. Next, try and encourage other people to do the same. NEXT, play TESL and try to not troll others or allow yourself to become filled with rage whenever you lose. Look at the news.
