I will leave this video here for the people that have this projector, but if you are considering purchasing one, I highly recommend the one above.
If you want to take your cookies to the next level, I highly recommend getting a projector! It is probably the best tool I have invested in and has really improved my cookie decorating skill. To be really honest, I'd be no where without one.
Disclaimer: I've had tons of requests to show how I set my projector up so this is why I have made this video. However, I mention in the video that I do have issues with this projector, that it occasionally disconnects from my phone or freezes on me. I've had it for a few years, and some days it works amazing and others I have these frustrating issues. I don't know much about projectors so I bought this as it seemed to be what everyone else was using at the time and how I set it up. Nowadays there are others on the market (which I will link below) that I've heard are great as well from other cookiers. Please do some research and read the reviews before you do purchase one and keep in mind that another brand or projector may have a different setup.

When I bought my projector my phone was not compatible with it. Someone suggested using a flash drive or jump drive and downloading everything you need to it. I plug it into my computer's USB and download everything I need for my project. I also downloaded the Snipping Tool and I use that for snipping anything I want as a design on my cookie. I then download the picture to my flash drive. Now I take my flash drive out of the computer and put it into the USB slot on the right side of my projector. This projects all the images that I have on my flash drive. I can have as many or as few pictures as I need. I bought a few flash drives and I usually delete the pictures once I'm finished with them. I use the other flash drives if I'm working on more than one order at a time. This has been so easy for me. I hope this makes sense and for those that have the projector but your phone is not compatible with it, this is the way to still use the projector. I now have a new phone, but I'm still using the flash drive because I don't want to spend the money on the extra cords I'd need. My son is computer savvy and he has helped me a lot. I tell him what I'm trying to achieve and he tells me how to do that.

I've heard great things about the Akaso! I was hesitant to do this video because I know its an older projector and there are better ones out there. But people really wante to see the setup and how I prop it on top of my cookies (and I didn't know these things before I started cookies either) so though it would give people an idea.

For fonts I primarily use dafont.com and for pictures sometimes I'll Google images or even coloring pages sometimes (if I need a simplified picture), or invitations or really anything else you can take a picture with on your phone!! Sometimes I'll snap pics of patters on tea towels or my kids clothes as well!

Hi! Thanks for this video. I bought the projector a couple months ago and love it. I do have one issue though, and hoped you would have mentioned it. My hand seems to block the image all the time. I also have the same stand, so not sure how to avoid that? Any solutions?

It's hard to keep your hand out of the way. I try to tilt the bag at an angle so that I don't block it. sometimes it does block it but I pipe blind for a touch until I can see it again. I'm glad for you that it turned out what it is for me it doesn't project on the phone or on the television, much less on the projector on the projector Nothing happens I can't see anything on television I can only watch KZfaq but I can't project my phone so I'm very sad because I bought it for that and I can't use it

So sorry it's not working for you. You can try and call them to troubleshoot the issue or see if you can return it. Or there are lots of cookie Facebook groups as well that have these projectors that may be able to help you

Ok! Double check all the cords are in the right spot again and make sure the scrensharing is turned on, on your phone. I hated setting it up the first time it took me forever to figure out and I still don't know exactly how I did it

@@LittleCookieCo Lol, I have used it but I connect it directly to my laptop, couldn't figure out how to do it with my Samsung tablet. Don't get me started on that darn focus dial, it never stays put...UGH! Your tips, tricks, and instructions are definitely helpful though and much appreciated, even for us "seasoned" pico users, lol.

I've heard complaints about the focus dial but never had issues until the moment we filmed that specific thing 🤦‍♀️and it just wouldn't stay i was so frustrated!! I know people said they've taped it haha. I might have to do that!

@@LittleCookieCoHaha, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I also use a little piece of tape, it's not perfect but it helps a bit. There are definitely a few elements that could use some improvement but for the way I use it, as a hobby decorator, it gets the job done.

What program do you use to cast the photos on to the cookie? If I just open it on my gallery, I can’t just move the photo around like you did in the video. Also; I bought this stand but it just seemed like I needed it to go up higher than what’s capable of doing. I needed a tiny portion of a picture to be blown up, because that’s what was going to be on the cookie and therefore I needed the projector to be further away from my counter, if that makes sense. I don’t know if there it another way to do that but the stand wasn’t helpful in that aspect. 😕

I usually just cast screen from my phone and it reflects what's on my phone screen. I've never had issues with the stand being too short, you can make I taller by extending it but normally that's more than enough. I usually just zoom in on the picture on my phone to the right size and if I can't get it, I'll go to instagram stories and then zoom in or move the picture how I need and then screenshot it from there, that usually is the quickest way!

Hi. I’m a big fan!!! I have my computer hooked up directly right now because my iPhone isn’t connecting like Apple products are incompatible but my question is how do you resize an image? I have to use a very tall stand to make my projection as large as I can and it still isn’t large enough really. I’ve zoomed in on an image on my pc but same problem. Thanks in advance for your help!

For images I have a really hard time resizing or getting them landscape/portrait the right way and size is difficult, I use this cause I find its so quick to do (link below but this is for my phone) I know you can't do this on your laptop, but it's a good quick hack to know and you could send the picture to your laptop. Also, for your PC, try searching if you have a tool called "snipping tool" it allows you to cut and make a screnshot the size you need it! Hello, I am writing to you from Chile. I love how you explain. the truth I did everything you say and the projector shows only the chromecast logo at first and then nothing. when i open the goigle home app, and try to stream, it doesn't. I'm desperate, I can't get it to work, I don't understand what I should do with the recently purchased chromecast. What are the first steps before connecting it to the projector? please help!!😞

I remember the first time I set it up I had to plug the chrome cast to my TV to set up an account or something like that. Then once I had that I could download the app on my phone and connect to it that way. Try doing that to see if that works. And also make sure you turn on your screens share on your phone when you are trying to connect to the projector.

I'm an android user as well and I just got this projector I last week. I was planning to use my laptop (HP) with the projector so my phone isn't tied up. Do you know if I will need to buy the Google Chrome cast for that as well

I'm not 100% sure, I think because you would hook it up directly to the laptop I dont think you need it, but again not sure. If you look into some Facebook groups like anything goes cookies or cookie decorating for beginners they may have some posts in there about laptops and projectors or you can ask and many are really helpful!

You show your android plug cord, (the white one), then you showed a (black one) that looked like it was connected to the chromecast. Did your Chromecast come with a plug in cord?

I know I had to buy an extra cord, it was something like a mini to micro USB cord or something along those lines. I should have all the cords in the description below the video. It was so many years ago now I've forgotten what it was. But the chromecast came with a cord too I believe, but it doesn't fit into the projector so I needed to get a separate one.

I think it can connect to any internet, I would assume but not 100% sure. I have the chrome cast app on my phone and the projector has the chrome cast plugged into it so I'd imagine as long as your phone and your chromecast is connected it would woke!

Is there a way to reboot the projector? It's connected to my phone and WiFi and Bluetooth is on but it doesn't cast screen

I sometimes disocnnect it from my phone/chromecast and then turn it off and on. I'm not sure if there is a small reset button but usually if I do that a couple times it works again

Yes, I would imagine so! A small one helps so that you have a small image and easy to place over your cookie but I guess you could really make any one work for you

You can use websites like dafont.com, fonts fontsquirrel or websites like that or Google certain themes/words and look under images.

I'm very frustrated. I can't get this stupid thing to work. Is it because my Chromecast came with a plug? I don't know but I'm ready to throw the whole thing out the window or go to Target for their tech support. Please help!

To be honest I'm not so sure. I had a really tough time figuring it out and that's the only way I know to make it work. I've since upgraded, they have a wireless version of this now and it's literally 2 seconds and you can connect it to your phone. Way less headachd now!

On my phone I have to enable something called smart view, then it allows the chromecast to find my phone

I agree it's not a very good projector, but unfortunately at the time it was what was available at the time and a lot of cookiers had this projector. Once you learn how to set it up, it's great. But they have a new updated wireless version which is amazing kzfaq.info/get/bejne/juCjntWHtM_KoJs.html
