How incredible is this that on the 12th of February, 2022, this Rich Roll video would algorithm its way to my YT feed. Perfect timing. Sometimes I can't get enough RR. Look, it is only 18-minutes long. Perfect for my day. A short clip which in a way, is the perfect hack.

What i love about him is that not that he's an amazing athlete oe an amazing person, but he is able to articulate what makes him that way. He's not afraid to tell you the real ass-busting way he got there because it's not cool to work hard, because there should have been some 'smart' way to hack the results you desire without earning them. But, as he said, the meaning of life is the journey rather than the reward so hackers are duping themselves more than the snake oil sellers promising quick fixes are duping them

Promising to deliver the results with less effort if you buy Ben Greenfield's supplement is a fantastic business plan. It's like effort is no longer fashionable. Being 'smart' is avoiding work and enjoying the rewards traditionally given to the diligent. When did we become so self-entitled and lazy? You can't hack job satisfaction or fulfilment

I hate looking at the audience at speeches like this. Roll isn't saying anything worth listening to with a dreamy look on your face. That's the irony of it - those who want to live and pursue their dreams and ambitions do it. They don't need a pep talk from someone like Roll, although it is indeed impressive what he achieved as an athlete. Why would you even pay money to go sit on your ass somewhere listening to someone telling you not to sit on your ass and to go do something. Just go do it. the motivation has to come from you, from the inside. If it's external, it'll just give you a nice feeling for a while and then it's going to fizzle. Just like a movie, CD, concert, or whatever. These motivational speeches are one of the biggest modern hoaxes and easy ways of getting money from the lazy, stupid and naïve. It's actually fascinating how widespread this form of bullshit is - they're a modern, secular version of clergymen. It's nice to use something as an inspiration, some quote or someone who achieved something, but going to speeches and buying motivational books of several hundred pages? that's like a cult following and it is procrastination cheaply disguised as acquiring necessary information. You don't need information. You need to get out there and do something. Not listen to this guy first or read this first. Just start doing something you desire.

+PiCheZvara Have you ever heard of a planting of a seed of thought? Sheesh, man. Sometimes efforts build with momentum, trial and error, and failure, and then maybe a series of small successes that leads to a larger success. You do need information at some point in your life, we need teachers, and you can't judge where people are at in their lives and how any talk will change them. You are making a valid point, and it's actually very motivational in itself, but in an angry Nike slogan kind of way.
@reecerobinson57708 жыл бұрын
+PiCheZvara And what are you doing? Sitting on your fucking ass writing a youtube comment. Guidance from inspirations like Rich help spur yourself to achieve and live a life that at least I didn't even consider existed before listening to his podcast in particular.
