Because I am a complete beginner at sewing, I purchased several cone shaped spools of thread without knowing it wouldn't work/fit on a a regular sewing machine. Luckily I remember seeing one of these before, and I am glad the threads would not be put to waste :)

cool, I have this exact unit, and never noticed the hole on top, I will be rethreading it properly from now on.

I just received the thread stand yesterday. I believe this will become one of my favorite tools. Thread that I was having trouble with embroidered without a problem! The only issue was trying to thread through the first hole with finer thread.Solved this by threading through a large eye needle and poking through the hole. Fast delivery too!

I don't know if anyone has ever told you that, but here I go: not only that your videos are helpful, but you have also a very lovely personality. I enjoy your tutorials a lot - they are informative and fun at the same time! I just love that you are so natural, so relaxed and so - very much human. Glad I found your channel. I learn a lot here. So thanks!

I purchased one of these thread holders and found the instructions on the back of the packaging were not clear, left me wondering if I had made a mistake, then came upon your tutorial - way I go into infinity and beyond by way of thread, absolutely love the device - thanks to your clear speaking and demo

Excellent information. I had no idea the different size caps for your spool were so important. I always wondered why you couldn't just one size for all. Now I know. Thank you for the upload.

Just today I said I need something that will keep my thread from pulling and breaking. For some reason my machine doesn't like sewilogy thread once I've used about half a spool. Now I think I can use an entire spool without having to keep an eye on the thread before it breaks.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart 💙💙💙 I had no idea hoe to use one of the spool thread stand until I saw your video. Like you, I have thread I want to use because of the variety of colors of the masks I'm making but, there is only a little left and my machine is picky. Thanks again Happy Sewing

I have three of these, one on each machine. They make sewing much easier. I have a cheap plastic version that also works. I just have to place something heavy on the bottom of it to keep it in place.

You have inspired me to check this out. I have one of those metal clunky spool holders. It just doesn't work as smoothly as I'd hoped it would. The major problem is that it is to move close to my sewing machine, and my cat loves to walk through it, taking my thread with her. I also wanted to let you know that videos are very inspirational as well as educational. I sew enjoy watching your tutorials, and you have helped me a lot to relearn so many techniques that I thought were so permanently embedded in my brain. I used to make wedding dresses and suits and a lot of items in between. It's rather ironic how a stroke has humbled me back to learning from the ground up. You're helping me rebuild my confidence while re-educating me at the same time. I just can't thank you enough. Please keep up the good work. It helps me more than you can imagine. I don’t know how to join your chat sessions, but if I did I certainly would. Cheryl Masters

I love your videos they are so informative! I have a thread stand but it doesn't have the adapter so the cone threads goes flying around the stand. I will be buying this one from you. I use alot of cone thread and small spools for embroidery.

Hi Cathann! Thank you for watching and thanks for buying from us! You'll love the thread stand - it's also great for getting that very last bit of embroidery thread of the spool. I find using the machine spool catches when the embroidery spool gets low. The thread stand has been a big help!

Thank you - however, I would expect the machine manufacturer to provide a better method that would eliminate all that futzing around. Right now, I am using the "spool in the big mug" plan with several binder clips temporarily affixed to various machine surfaces.

I don't have one of these but I use a lot of big spools in my serger so I got smart and set my serger next to my sewing machine and use the spool feeds from the serger. But this would give me more room. thanks dee

@K3S01L2
@K3S01L2 8 жыл бұрын
Do you have solution for big cones. I am going to sew outdoor gear and stuff so I need #69 thick bonded nylon thread and those are sold in 5500 meter cones which are quite big and they wont fit to any of my thread holders. So I need to invest for new one, but I cannot find any small enough to fit on my desk.

How do you thread a brother machine with more than one thread ? For two needles for example. Thanks
@CaptainBix
@CaptainBix 8 жыл бұрын
So I have an issue sometimes with the thread almost stripping itself. I will be sewing along and will find that I have a big snarly of thread stuck just above the needle! I haven't been able to figure out why this has been happening, but I am wondering if it's because my machine (a brother) has a thread holder that sit upright, and pulls the thread off (causing the spool to spin). I will have to investigate further!

Often the thread balls, and shreds due to cheap thread, or needle eye is too small.

Let me know if I'm wrong or not but using that, is pulling the thread up and as its moving it develops a twist in the thread, is that a potential problem?

Just where do you put the spool holder if the machine has an open thread cover (say, Babylock Aventura)? www.readysetsewtn.com/file/2015/10/12/BabyLockAventuraBLMAV2_med_1_2.jpg

I have a Husqvarna Rose and the top front panel lifts up for to show the thread so I am not sure where I would place the thread holder so that is feeds fine through my machine. I I cannot draw it across the top because of the panel, should I put it on the right side of the machine? It does not seem like there is a good spot, I should have thought of this before purchasing it. Please advise if there is a good method. Thank you!
@SewingPartsOnline
@SewingPartsOnline 7 жыл бұрын
Hi! I would put it off to the far right (maybe4 inches from the hand wheel) and prop it up on a heavy flat block of flat book. With it being higher, it should feed beautifully even with the stitch guide open.

We are aware of sewing machines of course where you can make bobbins from the spools, but not spool to spool.

1) The magic is that the thread stays twisted, thus has more tensile strength 2) I've always heard (and practiced) that serger thread will cause premature tension plate damage on sewing machines due to the fact that it's not mercerized.

wrong, wrong, and more wrong. threads on spools are meant to come of perpendicular to the spool. that is why a good thread stand will come with some kind of adapter to allow a spool to lie down and rotate to let the thread come off perpendicular. anything else is only going to unravel the thread. cones are meant to allow the thread to be pulled up off of the cone. that's obvious.

I've been sewing for 56 year's and started off on a treadle machine, as many machines as I have owned the thread holder's have until all the new generation machines the holder was always in the upright position! So I disagree with you, you are incorrect!!
