The fact these officers were rehired and back paid $55,000 and worked for the organization until 2017 is disgusting complete incompetence

As horrible as the Dhamer tragedy was this was probably the most heartbreaking. Incompetent police resulted in more deaths 😢

The worst part about this case was Jeffrey had a dead body in his bedroom when the cops went into his apartment to bring the boy back.Just awful

Roommate???? This was a 14 year old BOY!!!!! NOT A MAN. This totally incompetent excuse for a police officer should have been fired and lost his pension. Insane that he was able to keep this job.

What the actual heck. Even if he were 19, still not of legal age to drink. He was naked on the street! Even if he were actually drunk, why wasn't he taken into custody?! Why wasn't Dahmer taken for underage drinking also and supplying alcohol to a minor.

His neighbor complained about smells coming from his apartment, And he went to the apartment and didn’t smell anything ,yeah right!

If the victim was in that bad of shape, which he was, those police officers should have called an ambulance on that young man's behalf! He may still be alive today, and other victims as well. Smh. Makes me sad.

This is one of the clowns that helped Dahmer lead his 14 year old victim back to his apartment. I hope he’s spent the last few decades losing sleep over how he contributed to the murder of that child and the other men that Dahmer killed because of his negligence in thoroughly investigating this situation. Shame on all of these officers.

I was 22 when this happened.I remember being so disturbed by the fact the ball was dropped sooo many times, molestation charges against Dahmer against this boys brother,Dahmer serving probation for it still when he murdered this young man.....years later it still hurts to think of these victims and their families.Pray for their peace.

Any decent human being would have immediate accepted their fault, profusely apologized to the victim's family, taken full responsibility and resigned on spot. This is bare minimum. (Frankly they should have been tried and gone to prison) The above video was utterly disgusting... I can only imagine what that poor child felt in those last moments - he fought till the end and tried to escape. Perhaps if the police never came and the women were with him and taken him to hospital directly... this hurts!

I hope the memory of Konerak Sinthasomphone stays with him until he dies.

If this officer Balcerzak and his partner had done their jobs at the time then they would've saved that kids life and others! The fact these clearly racist and homophobic officers received medals rather than prison sentences are beyond belief

I am strongly pro-first responders. I regularly defend police officers who are broadly maligned for the actions of a few. But this is different. There is no defending an officer who takes the word of a man who clearly perpetrated violence against a victim (regardless of age) who can’t even give his full side of the story because of his mental state after having a hole drilled into his head. If someone is staggering around naked with blood on them and a victim of any form of abuse, you don’t discount and dismiss the event because you perceive it to be a lovers’ quarrel. An ambulance should have been called at the very least. This guy failed the victim, the victim’s family, future victims, and the entire community. He SHOULD regret his actions every day of his life. And if he does not, then may God find no mercy upon his judgement day.

False. You did not observe two men, one naked, officer. It was a man and a naked child.

The neighbour asked several times are you sure it was an adult because it looked like a kid... those officers could not even tell if someone is around 14 or around 20....what a disgrace... terrible policework smh

They used the words "asian male" but addressed the killer respectfully with "Mr. Dahmer"... That really breaks me..

18:42 "he refused to communicate with me" the kid was DRUGGED and had a hole in his brain wtfff. Communication was impossible for him in that state sad how this officer managed to keep his job after this and for so long

The worst of it was the Sinthasomphone family lost their lawsuit against the county. A Milwaukee judge dismissed it and that decision was upheld on appeal. After a brief dismissal from the force, they were actually promoted with back pay. The cops acted with prejudice against the victim because he was gay, or so they thought. No wonder people hate the police.

I hope that boy's family sued the police department. This is outrageous. He should have been taken into custody until he sobered up.

Whats crazy is these officers lost their jobs without pay then appealed and got their jobs back with 55,000 in back pay. And one of them ended up being president of the Milwaukee PD. They should have been in jail as well!! They helped kill that poor boy

This is infuriating! These cops are horrible people. They didn't do anything because of the "gay" perception & because Dahmer was whote and that boy was Asian. They should never have been reinstated. What they did is unconscionable. At the very least they could have call an ambulance for that boy. That's what the neighbor should have done instead of calling the police. That poor family of that child.

It's so insane how long he went before getting caught. He was basically begging for anyone to walk in and see what he had done. He wanted to get caught and still evaded them for ages.

The police really dropped the ball. Because of their actions (more like inactions), more deaths occurred. It's hard to look past this. That was a big moment, where Dahmer could have been stopped and lives would have been saved. This entire thing would have ended differently.

In May 2005, Balcerzak was elected president of the Milwaukee Police Association. He had a career until 2017. Just think about that for a second!

“Both doors were closed and I had no reason to venture into them” so being that Jeffrey said they were roommates why wouldn’t the officer confirm that there were in fact 2 bedrooms or look for any kind of evidence that the young boy was actually living there? Incompetent and LAZY!

The very sad part of it all is this police officer was fired, but fought for years to get his job back, a judge ruled in his favor, and also awarded 55, thousand dollars to both officers, the Milwaukee police dept, also bears the burden of neglect and disregard for human life I hope all involved burn in hell.

It’s funny how both police testimonies are worded exactly the same “ appeared to be 19-20” “ spoke to him for around 5 to 10 minutes I wasn’t looking at my watch” it’s clear these two officers discussed and came up with a story and how they are going to answer. Absolutely disgraceful a young young boy lost his life in such a brutal and painful way, probably absolutely terrified because these two officers let their own racial issues and opinions get in the way they refused to listen to the “ black woman” or show any care for this young boy… and for them to get away with handing him back to a monster it’s disgusting and disgraceful

I hope the Netflix show brings new and unwanted attention to this man and how absolutely negligent he was. I hope he loses sleep nightly over this and suffers consequences for it. Getting "fired" then reinstated shortly after is not nearly enough of a punishment.

There is so many flaws in his statement it’s unreal!! I can’t think why only a T-shirt and trousers and a naked picture was enough to be convinced he lived there!!! They could’ve looked into this so much more, they barely investigated!! So many questions that should’ve been asked but didn’t! I can’t think past this at all!! Plus how the hell do you not notice blood coming from his head!!! There’s something defo not right with these officers on this night.

Why was this officer called as a witness? Why does it sound that the prosecutor is asking questions in defense of Dahmer? Very strange line of questioning that doesn’t appear to serve any prosecutorial purpose but clearly defends this officer’s actions. Of course the defense asks only a few questions in cross.

The prosecutor is clearly trying to cover for the cops with these questions cause he and they know they screwed up. Noticed they never asked why they thought it was funny to laugh at the boy in distress over the phone

At least he could have said sorry only once. Regardless of what he really thought that particular night, he should have expressed his genuine apologizes considering the gruesome outcome of the situation.

Why didn’t Glenda testify? Or any other tenants in the area or building? They formed this case to be the way the wanted it to be, so many other voices needed to be heard to get these officers OFF DUTY ! THE JUSTICE SYSTEM KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING.. disgusting

Dahmer was given that good ole privilege from the police of reasonable doubt and that empowered him to continue his carnage. The police department was grossly neglect and I hope they were held accountable but I doubt it.

Both officers appealed their termination. Judge Robert J. Parins ruled in favor of the officers and they were reinstated in June 1994...seriously wtf.

How does someone who is allegedly trained in investigating crime miss a hole in a young mans head? He must have been covered in blood.. these police officers should all lose their jobs and pensions...This is either severe negligence or a police cover up

If you listen to this cop's statement it is angel-like compared to other testimonies, later by Jeffrey and also by witnesses themselves. Listening to this statement you would think it almost justified they didn't think anything was wrong, but doing your research you'll come to understand that witnesses begged the officers to do a search and that Konerak was claimed to be "bleeding from the rectum" and the other office noticed a foul smell of rotting flesh upon entering the apartment, etc.

Seriously, they seen a young man bleeding, not being able to walk and talk. And they let him at Dahmer. That makes me hating the police men more than Dahmer ngl.

This trial as sick as it was, was underlined with racial issues. A topic that still strikes a chord today because of individual’s inability to accept accountability for the honest truth of the matter. This cop and who ever else allowed those killings to continue can ACT like they are resolved of any responsibility to those murders, but deep down they know they were. That’s something that they will have to deal with for all eternity. Their legacies are definitely stained with shame and guilt. They have to live with that.
