In this video I'm reviewing the Wicked Lasers Spyder 3 Inferno 750mw 635nm laser pointer. It goes for about $300, but unfortunately does not ship to the US, AU, CH, or NZ. UPDATE: I had mentioned that the Inferno was originally advertised as a 1 Watt laser. I think I may be wrong, as the label says less than 1 Watt, it was most likely advertised at 750mw like it is currently.

Also the scattering intensity in air is proportional to the frequency to the power of 4. As a result, red light gives a very dim scattering light. Combining the two factors, it's even more difficult to see red laser beam.

I know the modes 3 clicks for S.O.S and click for beacon and hold the smart switch 3 seconds for tactical mode

How do u get it out of tactical hibernation mode?? I see how to put it in tactical hibernation mode by holding the switch 3 seconds but then when i hold it again 3 seconds to take it out of tactical hibernation it does nothing.

Dont use red headed Matches for burning tests with a red laser, because they reflect a big part of the the red light. Use brown, black or blue headed. Is this single mode or multimode diode?

635nm could be best described as, "HeNe laser red" because the most common variety of HeNe (helium neon) gas lasers emit laser radiation at ~632.8nm -- which in my opinion is a very slightly orangish-red.

@@V0V50 Have not seen the colour myself - but that wavelength is approaching more closer to the yellow part of the spectrum, so red-orange might make sense.

XM360 you can do the new wicked lasers S3 krypton 1W 520nm or the S3 lunar 500mW 405 that inferno has the s.o.s click the smart switch 3 time to put that mode

What make is the battery? At a glance it looks like a 'Yin Long' or 'UltraFire'.

It is an UltraFire. However, it is not the battery that was originally included

The reason I asked was because I purchased a 303 laser that came with an UltraFire 18650 and the first thing I did was get shut of the battery. My partner helped my decision to get rid of it - told me I wasn't allowed to put it on charge in our house. I've glanced at a few forum posts regarding the UltraFire and 'its' tendency to explode. Thanks for replying. I am aware (because I actually read through the comments) that you rarely use the laser, therefore probably will not need to charge the battery very often, or never! Thanks for the video, take care mate.

It's cutting it because of that cheating lens your using I built an oclaro 638nm 800mw which did the same thing at a longer distance

While I do dislike that fact that I have to pay extra for this lens, I wouldn't necessarily call the ability to focus a laser "cheating" to achieve burning. Yes, some stronger lasers can burn with less focus, but generally speaking all lasers basically just focused light
