I disagree w/ B High saying that anyone of them would've made a 400 degrees album. Juvenile voice is what really made the difference, that's why it took off like it did. And BG did put the label on his back, but due to the street life Juvie just took over.

400 degreez is really a hot boy album with a few juve solo songs. Compare it to G code, totally different but a year apart. But the Only reason 400 dropped is because BG was in jail.
@Lmiller832 жыл бұрын
I disagree too. None of the other hot boys was ready to explode like Juve was. When I first heard HA that production was amazing and his voice /style fit perfectly,He had the combo of street records and the Crossover hits that really changed the game at that time. I would say Nelly took what Juve did with 400 and created Country Grammer to a even higher level. Certain artists just come along at the right time and are able to sell crazy numbers.

@supermario81752 жыл бұрын
Carter 1 is close but 400 degrees is one of the best albums of all time. 400 degrees is a great album that ushered in Cash Money records which is probably the biggest selling independent label ever. The Carter 1 brought us the more mature Wayne that carried Cash Money when everyone thought they were done and influenced the landscape of rap that we see today. My opinion 400 degrees is up with some of the greatest albums but the Carter 1 is close but not quite there. 400 degrees was collaborative album but Juvie definitely carried the most weight on the album.

Correct, BG carried Cash Money to the deal... Juvenile was the star that was needed to make them household names. "Ha" and "Back that thang up" is what was needed and that's who Juvenile all day everyday. BG unfortunately got on drugs, that's what lead to Cash Money falling back on him... Baby loves BG, he was his 1st Lil Wayne. Wayne was the young talented kid but blossomed into the biggest star. 400 degrees is the best Cash Money album of all time... BG mother said it in a interview. BG was gonna come out first but he got locked up, so they put juvenile 400 degrees out. So it's a fact BG did carry cash money an open the door for the universal deal. It just so happen that 400 degrees was a dope album classic put cash money on the map. BG carried cash money independently into the universal deal but juvenile 400 degrees put them on the map an made the world listen to cash money. An being that the hot boys was on that album also it gave them alot of fans an anticipating them to drop there album an the rest as you know was history. Notice BG chopper city in the ghetto album came out after 400 degrees cause he was suppose to come out first "cash money is an army" then the big hit "bling bling" an lil Wayne shined on bling bling he wasnt even on the original version it was turk verse was fire. Lil Wayne shined on 400 degrees an bling bling. 400 degrees was so hot they had to drop another single back that ass up AFTER bg album chopper city in the ghetto an 400 degrees already came out the year before. I don't consider the first release of 400 Degreez to be a Hot Boys albums. There was one Turk verse and two Wayne verses. Now when they re-released it the did throw Hot Boys on a few more tracks, which is where I can see this perspective coming from. I agree that Wayne hasn't created an album a good as 400 Degreez.

I been saying Wayne ushered in the mixtape era, he makes real good albums but I’d argue not great ones. A mixtape is a bunch of hot songs (Wayne, Drake, Breezy with them long ass playlist style albums lol); great album crafting is a different thing (OutKast, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, etc)

None of then had the ability to present the streets as lyrically awesome and accessible, in a way that wasn't entirely uncomfortable for the masses, as Juvenile, when 400 degrees came out. His maturity is the reason that he was able to take "slow motion", from Juve the Great, to allow him to leave CMR and make fans of the whole HOT BOY clique fuck with the next album.

Get it from her momma was on Project English (2001). By that time the hot boys was pretty much gone at that time and cash money had Mack 10, Mickie and other rappers. Hot Boys guerrilla warfare cd came out in 1999 around spring or summer. I was a teenager at the time

In my opinion 400 Degreez, top to bottom, is the greatest album Cash Money has released to date. Wayne's mix tapes do rank up there with 400 Degreez. Wick is simply forgetting about the songs Juvi held down by his damn self on that album. BG first albums were absolute classics and "N****$ In Trouble" is one monster of a classic song.

As someone, me who is in their late 30s Wayne has some very stellar albums in his repertoire but at 1 point in 1998 400 Degreez was the album of the entire South and that's one Juvie album that I can play straight thru without skipping. Cashmoney was all I listened to back when I was a teenager, a huge fan. Wayne has dropped heat over the last 18-20 yrs while Juvie really hasn't.
