Here you go, a sharpening video for people who don't like to sharpen. Much like sanding, sharpening, however necessary and integral to woodworking, is among the things we like to do the least. That said, if we must do it, we'd prefer to work smarter, not harder. Sedge walks through sharpening basics and shows us a time-saving technique that makes your sharpening skills "wicked sharp!" I just spent a couple hours watch this video. This is by far the best educational video on sharpening chisels I have seen. Like later videos it’s the technique on how you stand and use your body that makes the sharpening successful. Thank your Professor Sedge.

Great Video our Jedi Master, (The knowledge is strong in you). Been using the same technique for my cheap chisels about every 6 months for years. Works like a charm, and takes no more than an hour to bring them all back to the sharpness that makes my older brother run away they are so sharp.

Great video. I assume this works on planes as well as any flat blade tool. What I like is that once you make the sanding block and load it up with sandpaper, that is it!! Easy to store and take out a moment's notice.

I see you also own a Tormak. When do you use that to sharpen and when do you use this method? I’d love a video showing the different sharpening systems and how/when you use each.

That’s a good idea, provided sedge doesn’t have to buy anything extra to make that video. Sedge is the number one source for reliable information . This channel is a woodworker bible

It's a question of "would you rather spend more time sharpening metal, or scraping wood?" The easiest part should come when you're working your material to final form; can't do that with dull blades!!
