A short walk around Wickham in Hampshire, including a view of the 12th century church and war memorial. Wickham is a lovely market town which has lots to see, and plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a lovely walk along the old railway line. Feel free to comment and/or subscribe!

I live about 1000 or more miles from here now, and it looks somewhat different than it did when I was a kid. But then I suppose it would, wouldn't it. That was so long ago, and although I was probably only about 3 or 4 years old, I actually rode with my gran on the Meon Valley Railway from here to Alton on a journey to Aldershot. Still looks a nice place though. As an add on, I was one of the kids from Knowle, when it was a private estate that went with the hospital there, my dad was a member of staff. Thanks for the memory.

Many thanks for your comment. I live about 20 minutes away from Wickham, and go there often. It seems to have a very close community spirit and is a popular place to live. I've walked along the old railway line which these days is a path for walkers and cyclists etc. It's a pity the railway line was closed, but as you know so many of them were. I'm planning another video when the weather improves, to also include the Wickham water meadows, so watch this space! 👍🙂

What a beautiful village. I was watching Time Team & they mentioned Wickham. I was curious I looked it up. Cheers from across the pond.

Really my pleasure, I've always loved coming to Wickham as I only live about 20 minutes away. As it's been so popular (lots more subscribers which is what I need!), I will definitely be filming in Wickham again - watch this space! 🙂

@@pbcreative6388 people do say it takes a long long time to get 100 subscribers then when your over 100 it won't take as long. (If I remember that correctly)

Thank you Elizabeth, I'm pleased you liked it! It's been my most popular of the 40 videos I've made so far. I know what you mean about the traffic noise. I did edit some of it out, but there was a lot! I'm planning to do a video of the Wickham water meadows and will write some music to go with that. I did a couple of videos like that on my KZfaq channel: Tranquillity (filmed in Brighton) and Fly (filmed at Lee-on-the-Solent). Hopefully when we have the right weather I'll be filming in Wickham again! 🙂👍
