Unexpected video after unexpected video on this channel! Such good content I've seen Matilda climb a couple of times. @@derpyduck5088 one of my friends nearly fell 40 m a few years back because he attached his prusik to a gear loop. He, thankfully, managed to pull himself back to the top and spotted that the gear loop was partially torn off. Not trying to be salty. Just want to keep people who are much less experienced than these guys safe.

these vids where you take people on their first ever trad climb are my favorite, it's so fun to see them go through the entire spectrum of emotions, from fear and confusion to elation and relief, especially the feelings of "shit do i even trust the gear i placed myself? i don't think i do" bc i think everyone feels like that on their first lead lol

As a trad dad, videos like this make me feel like I wasted years of my life as a snobby New Hampshire traditionalist, eschewing the gym, bouldering, and sport climbing. I feel like the true path is to get really strong in the gym and bouldering, and then just learn jamming and trad skills over a few days. Such regret.
