Alien Rides hi from Russia. I think the wheels are very small and without air will be very hard for driver. This scooter very good only for smooth road.

@@LuxWheel Hello! Agree that they aren't as comfortable as pneumatic tires, but for a smallish scooter I find it a reasonable ride. I wouldn't want this scooter for off-roading though.

Remember the lighter the scooter the more vibration passes through to YOU. In Bike while practicing for races I opted for a Univega all chromolly steel bike which weighed a good 40 lbs over carbon fiber. It just soaked up bumps and tiny pot holes. On race day it was back to the Carbon fiber bike. Weight can be a good thing.

Thank you! It's about time someone shows going up a hill in SF. Also, I've heard the turns are a bit difficult at first with the wide wheels, and the stem gets wobbly over time. Did u experience that at all? Just wondering...
@AlienRides
@AlienRides 4 жыл бұрын
I have not had the stem wobble, but I've only put 200-300 miles on it probably. Turning felt fine to me, but maybe on sharp turns you get up on the edge of the wheel so you lose a little bit of traction. Still think this is a great option if you're looking for a lower priced dual motor scooter. The E-twow GT is also a great option, but maybe not as good on hills as this one.

First off, this is a great video, you are one of the leading channels in electronic scooters. I just don’t understand how you got only 24MPH? Mine easily hits 28MPH. And all of them should hit 26MPH. Many people who test the wide wheels top speed, test it under 50v. Charge it to 54v+ and then change it to ludicrous mode. Than you should be going 26+ MPH! To change software Hole down one brake lever, cruise control, and power button at the same time. Than go click power button once to turn on P1, 01. And to set it click and hold both power and cruise control.
@AlienRides
@AlienRides 3 жыл бұрын
Yup, good point about the speed test, we were definitely in ludicrous mode. I think the rider weight and conditions can easily account for a few mph difference. 28 mph is easily doable downhill for example, but not on flat ground for me. Still a good little scooter.

What's up bro! Another great video👍. I figured I would go to the beach today. 7 mi in got a rear flat. I nursed it all the way home. So I figured I'd put on the PMT's. Put about 10 local miles on it testing them out breaking them in. I kept hearing a humming noise coming from the back I went home and took off the fender no more humming noise. I guess the way they push the air. Oh well I don't ride in wet conditions anyways. The tires are real nice. They're smooth, silent an excellent grip. It turns on a rail now. I'll let you know how it goes when I put some more miles on them. 👍✌
@AlienRides
@AlienRides 4 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Nice excuse to put on the PMTs I guess. I only have experience with them on the Rion, but man are they awesome. Turning is so amazing with them, it feels like you can always go deeper in the turn. I’m still not sure how deep you can really get in a turn with them, but I’m sure I’ll find out one day when I go too far 😬

@@AlienRides of course. Always great reviews. I have ridden the boosted rev, but have not ridden this scooter. How does the widewheel pro compare to the boosted rev speed/acceleration wise? Ride comfort wise? And range wise? Which do you like better and why? I think maybe splurging a bit more and going for a zero 8x or mantis base would give you better range/ performance than a wide wheel pro right?
@AlienRides
@AlienRides 4 жыл бұрын
Gregory Patzelt it feels like this scooter has about similar power to the boosted rev, I get about the same top speed on both, 24 mph or so. I think this scooter should do a bit better range wise too. At a lower price, I think the wide wheel wins over the rev.

Widewheel pro should come with semi pneumatic tires on 2021 so it can go off-road too. They should upgrade the light and brakes to hydraulic or regen. It’s almost at its max potential for its price. Hopefully next year they will make some changes. There’s so much you can do with a scooter, but every plus you add, create a negative. And every negative you add creates a positive.

Thanks for the video! I would definitely take the Widewheel Pro over a Boosted Rev. Now that I have a few hundred miles on my base Mantis I am definitely happy I picked it up. I love being able to keep up with most San Francisco traffic on the Mantis. When I need the portability I go back to my Speedway Mini-IV or Ecoreco L5+. Now that I have grown accustomed to the Mantis on BART I have been using it as my daily commuter more often. Since I have the reverse commute on BART I don't need to fold my scooter up as much so the Mantis has been working out. Perhaps there are some more extreme hills in Potrero. They may not be as long as California but I believe the grade is greater. I know one of my e-bikes had no problem with California but I think it was the top of Mississippi street that stalled it out.
@AlienRides
@AlienRides 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the Mantis is awesome, and it's cool that you don't have a problem bringing it bart. Thanks for the tip on the hill, ideally a long and steep hill would be ideal. Or maybe I can test on a mountain like Mt Tam or something 🤔
@RCDevotee
@RCDevotee 4 жыл бұрын
@@AlienRides I did a lot of mountain biking back in the day on and around Tam. I don't recall super steep roads. They had to make sure people could traverse most roads under normal human power bicycles. The Potrero hill streets have some length to them and definitely have the steepness. Another thing you should show is the ability to safely go down those hills. I would never want to go down with anything that didn't have dual disc brakes :)

Hey, I know they are different, but which one would you recommend. I ride a motorcycle around the Bay Area and San Francisco. However, sometimes I take the Shared scooters to get around the neighborhood in SF. I work about 1,8 miles from work. I’ve been thinking about the onewheel for the longest time, but then I saw the widewheel, I was impressed. Which one to get? - I need to be able to fit it on my motorcycle - I want to be able to get quickly around the neighborhood - sometimes take it to work - and when I travel I’d like to take it with as well I’ve taken the lime scooter from the Marina District to Financial district without any issues fitting between traffic downtown. I wonder, could I do it on the onewheel as well?
@AlienRides
@AlienRides 4 жыл бұрын
Scooters are really awesome for sure, but I'm not sure about fitting it on your motorcycle. I do think that a onewheel could get you around most trips around town, but personally I'd actually recommend an electric unicycle. Probably the most power in a small package you can find. What do you think about the EUCs? Bit of a learning curve, but we can help.

Yeah, good point. The airless tires does make it a bit more slippery on rain, but it is totally doable. Just need to be careful when turning and accelerating for the most part. It's generally a good idea to not ride scooters in downpour conditions, but a light drizzle should be fine.

Great review how does this compare with the turbowheel pacer?
@AlienRides
@AlienRides 4 жыл бұрын
Good questions, I haven't tried the pacer, but at a glance it seems that the WideWheel will have higher torque due to two motors and be able to climb hills better, while the pacer might have a bit of a higher top speed. The pacer would have air-fillted tires, making it more of a smooth ride compared to the WideWheel. Both seem like they could be great scooters.
