"Eggggg"-xactly. It leave me smiling and giggling knowing that she knows how to navigate this otherwise insufferable world of tennis media press. I used to not be the person who would write about her in this tone. After seeing all the kinds of obstacles she went through that all of us saw--in retrospect... How can I not root for her? ♥️ Hopefully the other women in her league can pay attention to moments like these. Perhaps we would have less Naomi Osaka-like ordeals. (That hurt to write.) Word salad ends here. Take care.

Loved the part about her being her own psychologist. That realisation that only she pilots herself around the court and through life and only she can say how best to deal with what's in her head. That's a great step forward in independence and maturity (for her, as that help may be invaluable to another person) and it looks like the awareness of that has probably been great for her self belief.

@@bekind2475 I wasn't dismissing it wholesale, just admiring her for recognising that, for her personally, it wasn't taking her where she wanted to be. And I'd guess that that does come with a greater degree of pride at her self reliance. And yeah, wishing her luck, too. Seems like a decent person.

It is absolutely wrong to blame someone for where they were born. To remove the flag and country designation of players from Russia and Belarus is just terrible. Regardless of what you think the situation is now, Russia has been around for thousands of years. It's like blaming German born players for what Hitler did. I am surprised more players aren't more upset or vocal about this.

A good thing the women are not being bought off from either gamblers or the organizers/tournament directors and/or advertisers. Because in the ATP they sure are buying players off so that the white man, novak, catches up to, and passes the Spanish name, Rafael. Yes, you win some you lose some, but novak could not have beaten Rublev, who beat Rune who beat novak (previous tournament) that easily. No way no how. Rublev looked crushed only because he was frustrated he allowed himself to be bought. CONGRATS, SABBY, on your first major final! To you, too, Magda, on making the semis.

They should eliminate these stupid pressers. No sports casters allowed in a presser that has 3 or 4 preassigned questions. Use the same 3 or 4 questions always. That way it is more like an off court interview. These sportscaster/writers are about the most obnoxious people on the planet. They should not be allowed to even look at the players, let alone ask them the same stupid questions over and over. Bar sportscaster/writers from off court interviews. Remember how Leylah Fernandez's on court interviews went? That is how an off court interview should go.
