Yep, at first glance you wouldn't think the rottie actually did anything, but in reality he played interference from Clint being discovered too early, while he was getting his strength back.

I watched this movie and was surprised when a sequel was made. The sequel even talked about the events of the first movie as an urban legend, that everything Clint had done was known throughout the town but with no real proof, all assumed it was just a drunken man's story.

Does it become a franchise where they keep getting back at each other like some Tom and Jerry episode? One gets out of the ground and buries the other one in and then that person gets out and wash, rinse, repeat? Lol The 8th movie (released in 1999) is a plot twist, where they both accidentality bury themselves alive and then find themselves in love with each other again and admit that they loved their sick tradition of getting back at each other. They spend the last seconds of their lives together happily using the last bit of air to make love "baby, you take my breath away" followed by "and you're to die for". Credits! Mixed Rotten Tomato score. Then for whatever reason there will be a reboot starting the whole thing over again either now or sometime back in the 2000s or 2010s, but this time by Rob Zombie or that guy that like explosions in his movies.

@@Kehwanna No, there's only one sequel and it basically explores a gender reversal. The cheated on spouse is actually Clint's niece, who's husband is a dirty cheater who wants her inheritance money to buy a yacht but refuses to have kids with her. It's an 'ok' movie.

I was 18yrs old when this movie came out in 1990 I was in high school Tim Matherson gives the best performance and a very handy person in the movie I know they came out with a sequel of Buried Alive 2 because he was in the sequel too as Clint Goodman. This was a very good movie.

Clint married the wrong woman. I truly feel bad for him. He does everything in his power to do something good to be with Joanna, what she's doing is unforgivable. Why isn't she working? She doesn't have kids to look after, right? So it's actually her fault that she's bored. I don't see the reason why she should blame, hate and kill him. At the end, she got what she deserve with Cortland and the money buried.

One of Frank Darabont's more well known films before Shawshank Redemption. It's a neat little revenge thriller that became a cult hit on TV/VHS in the early 90's. I imagine this film heavily inspired the revenge element of Kill Bill.

I’m glad this movie had a happy ending. Clint is a talented kind hearted man. What he did at the end of the movie is justified and 100% karma to how horrible Joanna was and how she buried him alive. Given that shooting his wife and the doctor would be quick, it wouldn’t be a fitting punishment. I’m also glad Clint’s dog didn’t get shot by Joanna. Joanna is a real bitch of a wife. Not only does she get buried alive with Cortland, the man she was cheating with at the end, but is buried with the money she wanted, while getting karma for burying her husband alive. XD This movie wasn’t too bad, and it was pretty good. Edit: Who would have thought Joanna being cheap ended up biting her in the ass. If she got a new coffin, Clint probably wouldn’t have escaped. This was a good movie, and had a good ending for Clint, as well as his dog. Personally for me, I don’t let my dog sleep outside, I let her sleep on my bed.

Jennifer Jason Leigh was a bombshell when she was younger. I've only see her in her more recent films but was surprised realizing this was her. She plays sort of rough and gruff role nowadays which fit her personality extremely well but I would have never guessed her in a role like this. Stunning!

What about Buried Alive 3: The Burying Now that was a classic film. Using a flying saucer stolen from a secret government base, the parents of the couple get revenge by burying their children's killers on a barren planet located in a distant galaxy...only to be attacked by a squad of zombie Nazis that have slipped through a tear in the fabric of an alternate dimension. Needless to say, hijinks ensue.

Interesting factoid about the Sheriff of this movie: Hoyt Axton wrote Joy to the world (Jeremiah was a Bullfrog) that Three Dog night sang. Hoyt wrote this for an animated show that never aired, under the influence of Marijuana. He started smoking marijuana on his doctors orders, to help quit smoking tobacco.
