The officer obviously should have known what her needs might have been and really should have shown up with more than a card, like maybe had some ready to eat meals, water, juice and other things for the grieving mom and widow. For her, she need not feel guilty or a bad wife/mother as it seems she was an attorney, so I can understand her choosing to go help her client instead of going on the trip with her husband. But at the same time, this serves as a lesson for all people who work to make sure their bosses know that the employee means what he/she says when they say they will not come into work. If you have an employer who keeps calling you to work when you have definitely say you will not work, you need to get another type of employment.

Having a job is great but when you have things planned for yourself and they call you purposely to do something, DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE! 😂
