I agree. Her actions,(Concubine Qin) I believe, from later in the series wouldn't have happened because she would have had Fengqing distracting and occupying her attention

@@dreamlittlehush6880 I thing having him would've distracted her/given her a different purpose. However, the Ou family had her weakness/they would've forced her to continue to work for them. Blackmail would been a huge motivator for her because she wouldn't want to lose the chance to be his mother. I really hate that she wasn't given the chance based on her educational background.

@@tulsi3549 Yizhen is the wife of his late brother....she was the former matron of the family. After her husband died she became his widow....and Lingyi took over as the head of the family....so that made his late wife the matron....now that duty falls on Shiyi. It's unfortunate that Qin's background disqualified her from raising the child but having her/Lianfang parent him would've been a huge mistake. Although Qin seems nice she's hiding a sinister plan and working against the entire Xu family. Lianfang is a no go because she literally poisoned Zhun in order to get Lingyi's attention. If she had access to this little boy it's not telling what she would do in order to get Lingyi to pay attention to her. She only wants the child because she believes he's Lingyi's son... and she thinks having him means that Lingyi will visit her. Lingy/Shiyi made the best decision...they put the best interest of the child above everything else.

@@shontelagrone8713 she really thinks he could be Lingyi's son??seriously??she really doesn't know him a bit..yeah..she shouldn't get the chance..imagine if she would've child of her own..what would happen..what would she do..and what would GM do!!.. Yeah..the child's interest is what matters the most..he already has had a sad childhood..and suddenly in a new house..he needs good care and concern..

I've just watched them both for the first time in this series as I'm in the uk and not familiar with them. Their chemistry and acting is so good I totally believe them! I love the costumes and set. I hope they do another series .

@@herpreciousmajesty1302 thank you so much for that suggestion. I’ve watched ‘The king: eternal monarch’ a South Korean drama in recent weeks. I recommend it. I enjoyed ‘a 100 days Prince’ too not to mention ‘start up.’ I’ve not watched any British programmes for weeks !
