I really like the idea of using a pinephone as a daily driver. There is so much potential in using a full fledged Linux OS on your phone that allows for features that iOS and Android are lacking in. Being able to plug my phone into a dock and use it like a linux desktop with all the available commands and features would be both powerful and convenient.

@@supernoob2542 I was jk by saying little while super computers takes years to be able to brute force them (something like 3,000 years maybe given or take depends on the Bruteforce method the computer in hand the algo used the implementation the characters ..etc etc ) for extra info lookup PBKDF2, it will explain many things as the key is derived from it and in the IEEE specs it shows you that a password needs to be 8 to 63 characters which explains why it says 8 char min btw. when you create a new password for your AP (Access Point) the key derived from this function will b used in the 4-way handshake as the PSK/PWK (pair-wise master key) and it generates what called "Message Integrity Code" (MIC). in the 4-way handshake we will check the MIC and the SSID to make sure that client get's auth correctly. the tool in the video captures this handshake checks the info and puts it in the PBKDF2 with an arbitrary password and checks the output if it matches the MIC that was captured means we got the password. this is how it works in simple terms for both WPA (in the vid) and also WPA2 not WPA3 thus being said bruteforce and dictionary attacks are not the only thing - WPA2 is vul (and in this case he's using WPA which's even worse) to many attacks - WPA3 is also discovered to be vul to a series of vul dubbed Dragonblood, while in theory bruteforce don't work against WPA3. why? remember the whole MIC from PSK which's from PBKDF2, doesn't exists here as we use something else called password element (PE) derived from H2E (instead PSK/PWK derived from PBKDF2) now you might say wow big deal new fancy words what's the difference i will bruteforce the password element (PE) offline just like we did with WPA/WPA2 will honey here the thing is that: - each client got own PE. - the SAE (Simultaneous Authentication of Equals ) dubbed in WPA3 as DragonFLy protocol, the sys we use here to to work as exchange the keys (which doesn't really it makes both client and AP reach an agreement without exchanging keys) is actually and example of EEC and Zero-knowdlage proof in other fancy terms we don't actually share the PE both Client and AP reach to a commitment that they are using the same correct PE without actually sharing hence you won't be able to actually capture it this might seems like it doesn't make sense so the only thing here go watch a vid about zero knowledge proof

If they don't, then i think you need to explicitly tell people that , a person outside of the home, walking on the sidewalk or parked in a car, with such device can attach any wifi network and after getting the password can have access to home's network. So if anyone sees someone outside their house, which is suspicious, then there is a possibility of having your network attacked. Be aware!!!!

The network is configured with WPA2. Wifite shows WPA even when WPA2 is used. This attack was against a captured WPA2 handshake.

This is one of the few excuses you need to create passwords that it would take years to unravel and figure out where you are who you are and what you're doing

@Tin Man how is it even possible to memorize this crap
@bob5991
@bob5991 10 ай бұрын
@@Astrqx Try using the first letter of each word from a passage in a book or a speech. For instance, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character" becomes "IhAdth@m4lcw1dliAnwtwnbjbtcotsbbtcotc". I decided to capitolized any a's and used numbers where numbers were spelled out. I replaced 'that' with 'th' and the 'at' symbol "@". Easier to remember and, from what I understand, almost impossible to crack.

Most of the videos on KZfaq shows like cracking normal and easy passwords, but what about other passwords. Can't they get cracked too?

No one actually talks about it because mostly they're amateurs and that's the difference why some get into bank systems while others make KZfaq videos

No if you are using WPA 3, which you should now a days, it will not be possible to crack it like this. Even with using the older WPA 2 this is not possible this easily. So just use the modern authentication system and not just WPA which was replaced in 2006!

Nope. It must be one that is capable of monitor mode. You need the right chipset. Here is a list of chipsets that allow monitor mode. Atheros AR9271 Ralink RT3070 Ralink RT3572 Ralink RT5572 Realtek RTL8812AU Ralink RT5370N MediaTek MT7610U

I did a vbs script that auto creates profiles with names of each password tried that uses common passwords from a list and if the pass is found, all the profiles are auto deleted except the one that worked. Found a bunch of passwords this way just to see if it works.
