Karl I feel it should at least be mentioned that ur mischaracterizing the outrage over mk11. Ya there were weirdos upset about the breast reduction and increase in armor for women, but this series was built off huge boobed, sexy women thrashing eachother around, the men were there too lol, but when you alter a mainstay to a franchise it's going to get backlash. Also worth mentioning is the devs came out and with a straight face said "we wanted to give the women more armor because it's more practical " smash cut to the mention who by in large, are wearing skin tight pants and/or shirtless.

It would be more practical for the women not to wear bikini armor as it would for the men as well. With that being said the people upset with the changes to the women wouldn't be upset if the changes were made to the men's model because it doesn't feed into the male gaze.

Kitana's mk11 costume is her best in the entire series, i love it. But i don't think Mileena should have gotten the same treatment. Mileena's skimpy clothes have always made sense for her character. She wears a veil as well as skimpy clothes because she doesn't want people to look at the one part of herself that she doesn't consider beautiful. you know, unless she wants to scare the crap out of you. Then she'll take the veil off.

The other character I oppose the costume change for is Skarlet. She gains power from bathing in the blood of her enemies. The best outfit for her in a fight IS as little as possible, to maximize skin contact.

The best boss in Mortal Kombat, and one of the best end bosses ever. My favourite playable character too, it's a shame he is so nerfed compared to the other Kombatants. Hopefully, he is more streamlined in future games.

I never understood the complain about the outfits. Every character has unlockable skins that looks close to the classic ones they had. "Oh, but it takes forever to unlock stuff". Imagine having to play a game to get optional things

Most of them wearing more gear makes sense, and I like it. But it doesn't make sense for Mileena based on backstory and character, or Skarlet based on her powers. Cover up Jade, Kitana, Tanya, Sonya, So on, so forth, but when someone's power is based on skin contact with blood, and you give her a full body covering outfit, it doesn't make sense.

@@dustinb8781 If they wrote that, then I wouldn't have a complaint. As is: Why not try to work at Netherealm? You can't be worse than they already are, with the wasting of characters and arcs like Mileena, Dark Raiden, and Revenant Liu Kang, the utter ruination of Sindel's character that missed the point of her visual design, the bad fanfiction level of writing of the characters they try to push (Quan Chi and D'Vorah primarily) by just having them beat old major characters, the story modes only having heroes playable so the villains all look weak by losing every fight (Cetrion and Goro are hit hard by this), and the 4 fight structure leading to pointless battles (Jaxx VS Johnny Cage springs to mind) and characters becoming total jobbers after their chapter... What was I talking about? Right, yes, Your idea would be good IF it were part of the story. But it's not, unfortunately.

@@dustinb8781 I was never any good at guilty gear, I have a bunch of complaints about SC5 too, and it's not like there's Nothing good in the new MKs. The handling of Kung Jin's homosexuality was great to see, for example. I like Kotal Khan, when he's recognised as being evil (Which the game feels indecisive on at times.) The growth of Johnny Cage across the series was really good (Which is why his jobber status bugs me so much.). There's a lot of good... It's just mishandled.

The reason why Shao Kahn's race is listed as Immortal is because he is the same race as Raiden and Fujin, he used to be the defender god of Outworld but decided to give up on that job, disposed off Onaga, and took over Outworld as its new ruler.

Shao Kahn was the protector god of Outworld (like Raiden with Earthrealm) until he poisoned the former emperor (Onaga) and became emperor himself, that's why he is listed as an Immortal.

"Shao Kahn is a jobber" Considering he is only ever beaten by the chosen one (ignoring mk11) who was born to beat him I think he's a little more of a chad than Baraka and Reptile. Also I'm fine with the less skimpy redisgns I just I wish the new outfits had more character. Jade's new outfit is mostly poop brown. Just make it green. Make scarlet all red. Etc

I played a lot of Mortal Kombat X I played as the katana that has all the Jade moves and I gotta say I understand how Shao Kahn feels with the shoulder Bash thanks to how often I use Shadow kick. When it comes to the costume thing my favorite costume in all of the franchise is x katanas "Jingu" outfit which looks super badass

Midway made dinosaurs/giant monster fighting game that has fatalities and shit, it was called Primal Rage and it was fun from what I remember. You could be a giant gorilla that barfed and farted on his enemies, a giant electric triceratops, or a giant magic cobra raptor that uses magic and poison. It’s like Mortal Kombat if Scorpion was a giant fire-breathing T-Rex from hell and Subzero was a giant snow gorilla with frost powers.

Shao is an immortal when compared to a human, for sure. He was actually playable properly with a cheat code for the home systems in MK3, UMK3, and was a base character for trilogy and the updated version of deception: unchained. He is tough to win in MK11, but I've noticed he needs to bait an opponent into making a mistake and he is a terrific punisher if timed correctly (easier said than done, for sure). And for sure, buying the base game at launch is frustrating. I have EVERYTHING for the base mk11 on ps4 AND switch...but...lol yeah, it's my game. Same with mkx and mk9. What's crazy is I can pretty much always get at least a flawless victory if not a double flawless against Kahn in mk9. His weakness is crossups. The cpu rarely learns.

I agree with the lake of environmental diversity on planets in fiction but I've never really had a problem with planets having only one intelligent species. I assumed just one species evolved to be intelligent or they killed off the competition back in the day.

devil may cry style gameplay where you just shoulder charge around prehistoric earth smashing dinosaurs with your hammer, then at the end of the game the meteor comes and he bats it away with his hammer like it's nothing then tells it that it sucks, laughs at the dinosaurs then hits earth with his hammer so hard it zooms out to a dramatic finish like in fighterz. the end. why isn't this a thing? edit: shao kahn was in mortal kombat vs dc wasn't he? kahn and darkseid, my online win loss ratio on that game was 500 wins 2 losses, I mained superman and kano, I used to have to taunt people to fight me because 1 look at my record and they'd just refuse to fight me so I used to just tell people that declined my challenge that i won by default.

Who says Shao Kahn is not great in Mk11? I mean people might say that and that might be the consensus and I can kinda see that especially after all the other DLC characters in the game but honestly Shao Kahn is one of my top 5 characters I play with in that game and I've also fought a good amount of people who were really good at using Shao Kahn online so idk maybe just depends on the player, but personally I've never heard anyone say that
