The Drummer of this band is Don Lacy. He is my grandfather and he passed away 12/25/2020. He was very proud of his music career but he was also a very accomplished police officer. Rest in Peace PawPaw

The 70's, Houston Texas, Saturday night. Thirty minute shows of lots of great music. I remember it well. Jack Greene one of my very favorite performers. Thank you for the memories.

+mosrite Please believe me, country music is alive and in good hands! There are soooo many still writing and singing the real stuff!!! We just have to search for it today because as you know, country radio is not country anymore. But awesome new true country music is all over KZfaq - and can be bought on Amazon and othere places!! Whitey Morgan, Jamey Johnson, Sturgill Simpson, Tim Culpepper (one of my favorites), Cody Jinks, Paul Pace, Mo Pitney, Jason Boland, Cody Jinks, Dale Watson, Reckless Kelly, Brian Mallery, Ray Scott and yes, Chris Stapleton (I feel his best was with the Steeldrivers!) This is just a short list of who is out there keeping it alive!!! This is just a handful! .... And awesome Gene Watson is still touring as is Johnny Rodriguez and Alan Jackson ........true country is not dead at all - sadly, just not being allowed on the radio anymore.

+Kigsgrama ...well, new country surely possess talent. my main concern is that there are no TV country shows as Wilburn Bros, Buck Owens, Faron Young, Nashville Now, Prime Country, Porter Wagoner, Etc. Etc. The newbies do appear on Opry, but that about it. It is really hard to judge the newbies as we only see them so b

I don't know what it is about Jack Green's voice but it just hits home.

In the 80s and 90s I was fortunate to play the Opry several times with different artists. I always enjoyed talking with Jack Greene who treated me & everyone with kindness and respect. What a great singer he was. Also was Ernest Tubb's drummer back in the day.

I remember seeing the Wilburn Brothers show at my aunt's house in KY on her old B/W RV. Happy memories! Jack and Jeannie's song were played all over the country stations back then.m now the modern "Country " stations won't even play Hank William's Sr or JR. or Pasty Cline etc.

The four Wilburn brothers sang together in the early days before Teddy & Doyle went alone, brilliant performers and a long career. Their music was underplayed through the world but fortunately recorded on many CDs.

I remember Jeannie and Jack doing this song back in the 60's, but I couldn't think of which TV program it was broadcast on. It's good to hear it again! Thanks for posting.

(FAST FORWARD TO 8:38 FOR "THOSE LOVELY LITTLE EYES THAT LOOK AT ME" BY THE WILBURN BROTHERS.) "THOSE LOVING LITTLE EYES THAT LOOK AT ME" IS MY FAVORITE SONG BY THE WILBURN BROTHERS, WHO ARE MY SECOND FAVORITE BROTHER DUET ACT TO COME OUT OF COUNTRY MUSIC, BEHIND ONLY THE EVERLY BROTHERS, WHO I DEARLY WISH HAD ALSO RECORDED THIS GEM. DEL REEVES ALSO. (MARILYN JEANNE SEELY IS PRESENTLY 81 YEARS OLD.) I LOVED JACK GREENE BUT NEVER CARED FOR "STATUE OF A FOOL." WISH HE HAD USED "UNTIL MY DREAMS COME TRUE" OR "ALL THE TIME" FOR HIS CLOSING SONG INSTEAD. BE SURE AND GOOGLE THIS SONG ON THE "BeMisty" channel, for the actual 45rpm recording that was released.
