AMAZON WISH LIST www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls...
Join us on the farm today as Alan and Blake get things done. They work with our new filly that we just got from a friend out in Ganado, AZ on the Navajo Reservation. She appears to be an untouched wild mustang that needs some care and today we halter her for the first time and deworm her with Ivermectin paste. Blake also takes Beauty to the round pen for some basic horse training lessons. It's a beautiful cold day on the farm but we are getting things done. COME ALONG!

It never ceases to make me smile, when you are working with a horse & chatting, there is an audience of horses behind you watching 'the show'. I know Blake is a busy young man, but I miss seeing him work the horses. He sure has a gift for it and an easy relaxed way around them, to which I'm sure helps settle a horse he's working with. Glad to see Casey out there with you.

She’s a beautiful 2 year old ❤️ Ashra is a beautiful name. She has ash like color. Pronunciation of Ashra as a girls' name is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Ashra is "fortunate, felicitous".

Name for the little 2 yr old.. Mesa. She came from the wild and going to go up to higher things. Horses are naturally better at going one way than the other. Kind of like left and right handed people. Takes a little more to get them to go in the direction they don't favor. Has to do with muscle strength too. Easier to go in a straighter line but in a tighter circle, like that round pen, they lean in because they don't have those muscles developed to carry it off with a rider on board. Your son and daughter are doing a really nice job at helping out and it's fun to watch you teach them the way to go.

Knew someone in high school some decades ago whose parents insisted they buy and repair thier own vehicle (with some mechanical help, use of dad's tools, etc..). It was a lesson thing on multiple levels. The dad used to chuckle every time the guy took off for the first while saying he needed to stay home with the tow strap in the waiting.

The new horse looks like she is going to be a sweet girl. Who knows what her coat will look like after she is fully wormed and groomed and bathed. Right now she looks gray with some white and maybe tan, so I would call her Calico or Cali for short, if those colors persist in her coat and mane. It is nice to see you work so gently and patiently with a frightened horse. She has no idea how lucky she is just yet.

Wow! It's been a VERY LONG TIME since I've been impressed by someone else's horse knowledge. Specifically, 'READING HORSE TEETH' to tell how old they are. To even know what 'TWO YEAR OLD TEETH' look like. I'm 64 & my Grandfather (best horseman I've ever known) taught me how to read horse teeth from the time I was very young & tested my knowledge often. From new born gums, cutting their very first teeth, the little grass nibblers at 12 -15 days old, two year old, four year old, 6 year old, 10 year old molars, all they way through to the old expression 'Long in the Tooth", how to read the darker circles that form on the flat surfaces of the teeth, which start showing up as the horse gets 'Longer in the Tooth, right up into the 30's & even above that if you're lucky enough to have them around that long like some of the much smaller & mini horses have been known to get to be into their 50's. Even how & when to float their back teeth (molars) & why. I don't ever recall being surprised when people don"t know a horse's age or can't even read their teeth, but to find a person who can read their teeth, that's rare. Well done! Make sure to keep passing that knowledge on down the line like you were showing her what the two year old teeth look like. This is a 'LOST ART', keep that knowledge alive!

****Name suggestions for the black horse being called Blackie could be, 1) "Moon Dancer" for the crescent white moon shape on his forehead and the way his stride just smoothly glides along like a performing dancer. Seems like a name thats befitting for an Indian pony. 2) 'Eclipse' for the fading sun shape, covered with darkness on his forehead, or 3) 'Black Bear' because he may look a little small body structured, but yet he's plenty powerful underneath that skin. Another name befitting an Indian pony 🐎. Those are some name suggestions but truth be told #1 Moon Dancer is my favorite! I kept replaying that ride over n over & I think that is the best suited name for him. He's really very pretty & I bet once he loses all of that winter hair he is just gonna shine & look so sleek n glisten in that Az sun! I really fell in love with his looks, he's gonna make a fine horse! You guys are doing a fine job out there, keep it up. Love 💞 & Aloha 🌺🦋 from San Diego, Yvonne 🌺🦋 & Hoku 🐕***
