Wild Bergamot, aka Bee balm, aka Monarda Fistulosa welcomes visitors to the backyard prairie planting. A meadow fresh morning before the high winds, plans of the day, conversations, and neighborhood traffic. Just the birds and bugs of the morning. The bumblebee and butterfly are still waking up, oblivious to my camera. The bunnies see me and are curious and careful. Multi-varieties of cone flowers in all shades from white to deep magenta. One little liatris points to the sky with its purple spike. Most of the others are not yet ready to bloom. The spiky balls belong to the rattlesnake master. Water pools in lupine leaves. Sorry to disrupt the bunnies' breakfast.
