I finally got around to reviewing the Wild Beyond the Witchlight Dice & Miscellany set. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just a solid set of dice, rolling tray/box and related cards/map. They're also orange, so I like them. What do you think?

The cards are actually pretty handy to show to players when they first meet the character so they can see what they look like. Way better than trying to hold up a book show an image while hiding trying to hid the rest of the page.

So let's talk about those lore cards: Short version: They are handy for me as DM. I picked this set up, and if I run a campaign of this, I'll absolutely use them. The carnival game cards look especially handy. Also, something else about the map: It has the same time and mood markers as the full size one from the book. This size: MUCH easier to manage. I have the Frostmaiden dice set, and am running RotFM now. The lore cards helped me out big time with fleshing out Arveiaturace, Coldlight Walkers and others. I love the dice, love the trays. But the map is the PERFECT size for my purposes: I've sketched out times between the towns and marked other locations on it. Tremendous help to me. As for the dice themselves: I really wish they'd go back to giving two chonk d20s like the Laeral Silverhands set.

I haven't picked up this one yet, but I bought the Avernus one for my wife, and the Icewind Dale for myself and the Silverhand one just to fill the collection. I love that they all have usable maps and relevant info, I've given the small version of the map to my party as their physical map. But I honestly hate that the Silverhand one has big dice. I love big dice, I just wish that all of the Dice and Miscellany had a consistency.

I have the Silverhand and the Avernus dice set. The last one I use the most. I use cards for the devils and demons as a sort of "pokedex" for my players. I also roll on the random Encounters and trinkets tables (I even put the tables into Foundry where I can roll them with a macro in 1 click).

Any dice set that rolls two nat 20s in one roll I am buying. 😆 Although I wish the character cards were tent style like Beadle & Grim's monster cards so that you could hang them on a DM's screen.

I've bought the Avernus, Laeriel Silverhand, & Icewind Dale kits. Haven't dive too much into the Avernus out, but I love the Icewind Dale and Laereil Silverhand kits because I can just imagine new adventurers picking up something like this as something to help them on missions in the Forgotten Realms. The kits in the realms would with not have any dice int them or they would have some sort of small trinkets or mundane magic items in them to aid adventurers in their travels. No doubt the Forgotten Realms kits would be commissioned Jarlaxle or someone else who want to help new and old adventurers and distributed by Bregan D'aerthe at an all-adventurers freindly price.

Out of curiosity, do the cards have everything needed to run the carnival games, or do you need to reference the book?

I was hoping to watch your review about this set before weekend to know if I would buy these, now I'm sure I will (: And about the cards, once a friend bought the Icewind Dale set and used the cards to just show up the creatures we encountered, pretty much for visual reference (he was a player, the DM didn't get the set).

We get dice for everything now! I love the font they use, and generally I love orange dice, but there's just something about them that doesn't look like they are quality dice.

They're honestly so much better in person! The orange has a light mix of pink in it, and there's a stunning compressed blue/green microglitter aswell. Really a set that a photo doesnt do justice.

I agree… it’s looks like they were going for a translucent/glitter effect but got a milky orange opaque instead. At least that’s what the set at BAM looked like.

Goblin wrestling is mentioned in the book but doesn't have stats or a description. Hopefully the card does.

tbh im not sure what to think of the dice themselves but seeing that QR code to comment on these sets would make it a buy for me. and for the record not enough dice rolling ASMR

I bought this in the combo with the book and was hugely disappointed, mainly because of the map, which I mistakenly thought would allow me to not have to mutilate the book, but it's only half sized and more importantly it doesn't have Prismeer on the back like the book's, so you're going to tear your book apart (and tear the map too because of how poorly perforated the strip it's glued in with is). There are plenty of other places you can get orange dice and cheaper.

I haven't picked up any of the official D&D dice yet because they look like standard solid resin dice, not worth the $30 plus for them.

Was really disappointed when I got mine, way overpriced for what you get. The dice were different shades of orange and had lots of bubbles in them. Don't waste your money.

I learned my lesson with the Silverhand set. The dice were ridiculously subpar (hardly "a solid set of dice"). The cards, although nice, all contain info that should have been in the notoriously thin TSCAG. I expect little more from this set. Hard Pass.
