I wanted to comment about what "good bond" means in Georgia. It is short for "good behavior bond". It allows the judge to set conditions that if violated would result in the defendant's immediate return to custody. It is almost a restraining order and bond together in one instrument. Any violation of the terms of the bond result in the defendant's remand to custody without a bond hearing or other judicial review.

@@youngandbitter Most bonds require action by a judge/court hearing to be revoked or modified. With good behavior bonds, Pretrial Services can remand a defendant without a hearing before a judge if a defendant violates the conditions of the bond.

A bond for good behavior requires the abuser (defendant) to post bond by giving money or property to the court to hold. The abuser will lose this money or property if s/he violates the judge’s order or commits a crime against you.2 The court may also find the abuser in contempt of court for violating an order.3

This is why the legal system has ground to a halt. Zoom has made it so much worse in many ways, one of which is that these assholes don't take it seriously at all. Also, so many people are in jail for more than a year without an indictment. That seems like a poor sense of justice to me.

I don’t understand how all these people are kept in jail on super high bonds for a year or more with not even charges but Darrell Brooks was let out on a very low bond after running a person over. It just makes no sense.

@@themomentends3 No, I am referring to a few days before the parade. He ran over his girlfriend and was arrested but let out on a signature bond and that is how he was able to drive through the parade. If they had kept him in jail with a higher bond, it never would have happened.

I began working with my dad, a pediatric dentist, in 8th grade and remained in the profession throughout my life. Parents can do so so much to give their kids a head start in the labor market, as my dad did for me and Mike is obviously doing for his daughter.

I'm confused.... If you are appearing on a warrant for failure to appear, don't you lose the bond? How are they continuing bond, on a failure to appear warrant? In KY, you post bond, if you fail to appear a warrant is issued, if you are picked up on that warrant, you lose said bond, and 9 times out of 10 do not get a new one ... Isn't that the purpose of bond? Either appear or lose money?

There are never any consequences in this WA court, and lawyers tell the judge what to do, right or wrong, and he does it! This judge needs a road map to the restroom, and would still pee in the corner of the conference room! 🤣

They came through here last year. If they weren’t indicted within 90 days by the prosecutors they were released in the charges were dropped because the DAs office was just dragging their feet doing nothing.

In Canada we had a series called SCTV, it ran from '76 to '84, helped in the careers of John Candy, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis etc. Eugene Levy impersonated Perry Como through the series run, it is hilarious, (I still go watch it when I need a laugh! 😃) this judge reminds me of Eugene playing Perry Como. Barely a pulse, talking like he's in molasses, good stuff Mike!

Seeing how things go in a Washington Court, I now understand why large areas of the state have become hellholes of criminal activity and violence. "Messes with the speedy trial" - then show the F up for court!! In Manning's Court - CHO was SPOT.ON. The Prosecutor was way out of line. Regardless of HER OPINIONS, the Defendant still has the Presumption of Innocence. Purposefully endangering his life or threatening his safety is unacceptable. Biatch needs to stay in her own lane. Good on Judge Manning for giving a bond that's less than 1/3 of what the Prosecutor asked for.

Just imagine if that one judge gets sick or something and then Judge Manning or Simpson takes over for a day or two, the amount of bench warrants handed out would keep the local cops busy for a year.. all warrants quashed and nobody ever shows up because of that 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ how does anything ever gets done there 🤔

How are folks still walking free with 7 FELONY CONVICTIONS, not counting lesser charges or misdemeanor convictions?!? Now there's another high felony added to the catalog. I'm all for second chances but a baker's dozen worth of chances is just seems excessive, especially if any of them were for violent crimes.

In the state of Georgia, you can apply for a bond for good behavior in the criminal division of magistrate court if a crime has been committed or is immediately threatened. The judge may issue a bond for good behavior if s/he believes the safety, peace or property of another person in the county is in danger of being injured or disturbed

Good Bond: Commonly referred to as a “surety” bond; this bond requires payment of the full bond by the defendant, a private party on behalf of the defendant, or a bail- bondsman in order to be released before the next court date. (This is from "First Appearance Pamphlet" in Fulton County)

The attitude in this court seems to be that the defendants MUST turn up for court but only when they feel like it. The Bench Warrants DEMAND that they turn up but it has a P.S. that says Pretty Please turn up. If they finally get tough they will say that you must turn up for a bench warrant and if you don't then you must have a very serious reason not to attend. such as I had to wash my cat.

I could be wrong, but I think "Good Bond" is a local way of referring to "Surety Bond" - where a bondsman makes "Good" on paying the court if the defendant absconds. This allows the defendant to pay less upfront to be released, and defendant would be on the hook with the company by losing whatever collateral they put up in addition to their upfront payment. Bail is different by having the defendant or someone on their behalf pay the entire amount before their release. I'm not an expert, but I was wondering this as well prior to watching this video.

I can't imagine showing up in court dressed the way these people do.. I got a glimpse of the disrespect first hand when I went to court for the guy who shot my son on the expressway.. I saw a woman come in with a skin toned, skin tight one piece where there was in fact NOTHING left to the imagination. I had to stop going to proceedings because I was so stressed out each time. I got a fast and furious crash course in how the justice system works. The defendant was out on Bond and violated 4 times before he was taken into custody. Make it make sense please. 😢😮

I know this is an old video, but just now seeing it. I spent a year one week in Cowlitz trying to clear up one person's warrants, pvs, and criminal history so he could get into subsidized housing. It was crazy 🤪 !

Does the state EVER feel the need to reduce the bond? "Defendent has been incarcerated 5879 days without indictment, for stealing a candybar at the Piggly Wiggly. Bond is set for $50,000" state: "the state believes $50,000 is a fair and reasonable bond due to defendants criminal history" 😆
