5 days of hunting public land in search of wild game for the freezer. This was originally supposed to be a tahr ballot deep in south Westland but due to a horrific weather forecast we had to come up with a plan B to chase the good weather. Watch along as we spend 5 days hunting out the back of a Southern Alps valley filled with deer.

I can relate. The first time I went to New Zealand in Dec. 1975, I was there 35 days and got rained on 28 days.

We think it might’ve been an injury from another pigs tusk while fighting. Probably could’ve cut around it but with maggots crawling through it we decided against it haha…

We reckon it was an injury from another pig, was super infected and literally rotting with maggots in it so we figured we wouldn’t take our chances haha. Cheers for the kind words!
