And yes I touch on it in the review but technical issues are certainly there and for a lot of people they'll be big ones, that said my focus is on the literal game which on the whole is fantastic, we have a patch on the way and once that addresses the performance there's nothing left to stop this being a real proper contender in the genre.

To be fair that sentence "it needs to be played to be experienced" applies to monster hunter as well. When I first saw trailers for world as my first monster hunter game I was thinking "I don't get it" but when I listened to people like you and arekkz talk about it and how passionate you sounded about it I bought the game on a whim and then lost 2000 hours of my life 😅

It seemed a neat idea, back in 2004 when the first one came out. Tried it out for pure curiosity, been playing the franchise since, been in Japan and ate a steak at their MonHun restaurant and everything. If you like MH, you’ll love this. It’s a must-buy imo, i’m definitely enjoying this far more than Rise/Sunbreak. The performamnce as of now is a bit iffy though, i’m getting a stable 60 fps roughly at most settings set to medium, with upscaling enabled, on a RTX 3070 Ti with a pretty beefy cpu as well.

Yian, I'm with you. In fact we probably agree on most things MH-related if our interactions in the Ratatoskr stream chats are anything to go by. I think its the monsters themselves that I'm struggling with. I passionately love the world, wildlife, and ecosystems of the MH series. The monsters themselves are the star of the show. These monsters look interesting, I guess, but they are just real-world animals blown up to massive proportions with elemental aspects added. Roosters, Wolves, beavers, squirrels, wildcats, and gorillas. MH bases their monsters on real world animal as well...to a degree, but changes them in a way that makes them wholly unique to the world of Monster Hunter. Rajang is a monkey/gorilla type, but it's infinitely more interesting and unique than the fire Lava gorillas design in this game.

@@kalzero3319 Haha yeah you know me well, I fully agree. The monsters in WH are cool and no doubt offer fun and interesting fights but I don't see myself getting attached to them the same way I would with MH monsters. They really should've given them unique names... Even if I did get attached to one and even decided to tailor my profile according to it my username would sound like some edgelord title rather than something recognizable like "Yian Garuga"

I do still wish we would've gotten Toukiden 3 instead of Wild Hearts. I just find the different Oni more interesting than Animals with stuff on it. Not that the Kemono designs are bad, quite the opposite, but in the end something like King Tusk ist just a Big Pig with with plants growing out of it. Something like Edax with its giant mouth in its belly that even keeps on fighting after you ripped its legs off is just cooler than a Big Pig.^^

It's good to see a few more armor sets in this video. All armor sets I've seen until now were really not my style at all and that was a big aspect of me being on the fence about this game but now I've actually seen 3 that I at least somewhat like. 3 out of 13 shown in this video isn't much still but it's at least not 0 anymore. $70 is still too much money for this game at the moment, though, in my opinion. Especially when hearing about all the performance issues on PC. I'll probably buy it but only after it goes on sale for the first time.

Definitely wait for performance patches. The devs have been responsive but it needs some work. One detail about armor variety is that there is variation even in some armor sets. Some of them have different Human or Kemono versions that shift your alignment (which ties into skill activation on some gear if your alignment is in the right category). Usually a minor cosmetic shift but I've seen some bigger differences on other sets so its something to keep an eye once more in-depth gear videos come out!

In Generations Ultimate or MHXX, the Wyventurer falls into a but of a depressive state when you're told off by the guild for trying to hunt Valstrax (singleplayer) which changes the music. After 10h (EA play early) I must say, my favorite boss so far was lavaback or whatever that ape is called in the English version. It spawned with it's AI completely deactivated and just sat there while I could beat the living hell out of him xD Don't like that you unlock the last 3 weapons only in chapter 2 and can't use them from the beginning. The game is fun so far, but there are WAY TOO MANY bugs for a game supposed to be released in 5h as of now. The staff you unlock in ch2 feels wonky as hell, you're attacks often phase right through the monsters and you can loose the stacks you built because of that. 30s of attacks missing while you stand right up to it's legs is bad. Heavy attacks hardly have any hyper armor. You can get interrupted out of the attack after the final Animation has started. Seeing the ground split on Odachis fully charged attack, get tripped at the same time and do 0 dmg also feels really bad. Don't get me wrong, I really like the game so far, but I really hope the patches come fast, the bugs currently are killing it. And early buyers should be warned about the bugs. PS5 Version here.

What I'm seeing and hearing from the playthroughs and reviews is that this is exactly as you describe: This game is a new mood in the Monster Hunting Genre. I now have the choice between two unique approaches to the same gameplay loop and I adore that. I can't wait to play Wild Hearts and watch this new franchise grow, because I've got a good feeling about it.

As my name suggests, I like a good underdog story. Monster Hunter has had a monopoly on the "genre" forever. Hell, it's not even officially considered to be a genre simply because no one's ever been a direct competitor to the franchise. The release of this game has changed that. Even with its technical bugs, it's already everything I look fpr in a Monster Hunter game. It all just works. From monsters, to world-building, to design and combat, it's all top notch. Capcom is going to have to acknowledge this game as competition and that will only help improve Monster Hunter and in turn, Wild Hearts. I'm so grateful for this game. Who knows, maybe we'll get the Elden Ring of Monster Hunting one day that completely takes over the world and turns the "genre" mainstream

Looks amazing so far and I've been hype for this for a while, but prolly still gonna wait just a lil longer in case EA or KT try to jimmy in some post launch microtransactions or something to ride the good will from these reviews, love your channel and can't wait to experience the game later, but EA's kinda earned my severe scepticism at this point

I don't know. I'm almost 20 hours into the game I think? Technical issues aside, I think the monsters lack something. Each and every one I have faced feel like they have a "attack, wait a second, attack" pattern that ignores completely if what they did was a fast attack or a slower one. Monster hunter has clear windows of "now you can attack" while wild hearts has "now you can spring attack". I'm playing the claw weapon so the nature of that weapon "fixes" it since you can constantly hover and abuse those small windows but weapons like canon feel so screwed when they can't even instantly abuse the spring s like all other weapons. Overall I think it's a good game. It feels like it can compete with monster hunter in the future and the karakuri system is a great and fun difference between both games. In MH I'm a solo hunter that only knows potions, I don't care about other items. Wild Hearts is really fun when you are constantly changing the environment in your favor, placing traps and defences and permanently changing the map with them. I have great expectations of this game. I hope they manage to fix the technical issues and get to have a sequel to work out the formula.

This game has so much potential if they tweak some things in updates and dlc. But as of now, monster hunter world has my heart when I first played. But like I said, this game has potential to be better than even MHW! Hopefully the devs keep working on it

does it have some issues? sure. but does it keep me coming back, not because i put money into it but because i want to see whats next, cuz i want to explore, etc.? absolutely. and many of the issues can be ironed out as things move along. (hopefully if they make a sequel they will have an actual beta to work some stuff out. one that doesn’t require an ea play account either 🙄) like, it’s nice that i can work on the story together with my friend, but at the same time we can’t get our own requests in a friends world, so they need to address that one… pretty annoying, also, even tho my friend and i are both on ps5, we couldn’t get into multiplayer unless we had crossplay turned on… why? very odd. also, the whole “ea account needed” business is just annoying.

if it wasn't for World or GenU I probably would have given up on monster hunter cause it suffers from the lack of change gameplay wise before hand an example would be pokemon which got stale so fast(Literally beat Violet and Scarlet so fast and got rid of it it wasnt even worth it after finishing it) compared to the MH franchise but MH was following those steps >.> getting boring essentially after 15 years of playing it :I but lets hope they keep improving or adding change to keep the game fresh in a good way :)

Just a little reminder for everyone saying they will skip this one but they're excited to see what the developer will do to build on it, or they will wait for it to go on sale, remember that EA are the publisher, if the game doesn't sell, they'll cut the DLC support and there won't be a sequel.

Um with part of your complaints about the weapons and armor.... Isn't that just because of your experience with Monster Hunter? Like you're used to how that armor looks and that the monsters really influence the appearance of all of the gear. But this is all new. The gear isn't built or based on that because it's a new system and sets of weapons and armor.

This game has a ton of promise. One of the things that I think bothers a lot of people the most, is that your character moves around SO MUCH when attacking with a few of these weapons. It destroys that dopamine hit you get from MH by being able to have perfect placement. Positioning is everything in a monster hunting game.
@shavooo
@shavooo Жыл бұрын
And that right there is the reason why I probably pass on it.
@Omegafire17
@Omegafire17 Жыл бұрын
People can get dopamine from the 'rush' of the flow of battle too, among other things. Sure, positioning is important, but this is a different game/game style than MH (where it is most important), and so it's importance - and hence, how it triggers dopamine in us - will be different ^I for one enjoy MH's system, but I'm just as likely to get a rush from a great attack-attack-attack flow in other games. I imagine other people will get their dopamine fix just fine, even if the change in positioning importance will be an adjustment :P

This video convinced me that I want to buy the game, it means so much to me that it isn't just a clone of mh (and a huge part of that is your own personal recommendation as my go to mh channel!) On another note, I always know a game is worth it, when I notice that you are covering builds and mechanics of it ♡

my static group jokingly refer to wild hearts as fortnite hunter, but honestly, once I data dumped the controls of MH, and became proficient with a few of the weapons, its become a great game for us.

it's a dragin crab. because it's dragin you away wow your "demon ore" complaint is almost word for word my complaint on raise/sunbreak mining where it literally tells you nothing. is it blue nodes? white nodes? there are hints in the item description but some of them are mistranslated like light stone says "jungle" but is in the flooded forest and can't be mined in the jungle.
