Wild Horse Stallion Confronts Bachelor Stallion

3 жыл бұрынHeber Wild Horse stallion "Bruiser" charges out to confront a buckskin bachelor stallion that got just a little too close to his mare and her new foal. The young buckskin mare, I believe, is out of "Chrome's" band. Chrome is a buckskin band stallion within the Heber herd. The last two times I saw his band, "Bruiser" was right there with them. He had separated out Chrome's black, pregnant mare, and I was sure he was going to try to steal her. Instead, he now has this young buckskin mare and her new Cremello foal, which I will call "Cotton".

Is buckskin a color? What color is it? Which horse is the stallion protecting the mare & foal, and which is the bachelor? Maybe you've gotta be a horse person to watch your vids. I guess. The bachelor's the same color as the mare. Did I guess right?

Buckskin is a coat color, it describes the yellow/tan horse in the video. The bay(darker brown) stallion is protecting the mare & foal :) In this case you can tell because he is able to approach & get closer to the mare than the buckskin(bachelor) would, because the bay stallion would want to chase off the bachelor.

@@madisonb8151 - thanks for explaining, and that's what I assumed. But what caused confusion were: 1. the bay didn't look like what you would expect to be the sire of the buckskin foal; and 2. the bachelor stallion did look like he could be her dad; and 3. the bachelor looks bigger than the bay, so looks like he might be the higher stronger horse. Thanks for clarifying..

@@halibut1249 No problem! The bay likely isnt actually the sire of the foal- based on the video description it seems like he was a bachelor who stole this mare and her foal from another stallion's herd

@@halibut1249 1. With wild horses, mares are constantly being stolen by another stallion. Quite often, the stallion currently with the mare is not the sire of her offspring. 2. The buckskin bachelor is not the foal's dad (see narrative). 3. The size of the stallion does not determine the most dominant stallion. If a smaller stallion has the "heart of a lion" they can easily intimidate or "best" a larger stallion.

Is the mare's back left leg okay? It looks slightly off.

there is nothing wrong with her leg..the log that is front of her, theres a branch that just happen to line up with her back leg.
