@derekbates4316 go to the labrea tar pits museum in Los Angeles and see the displays of ice age mega fauna the Grizzly bear of the pleistocene is among them up until 11,000 years ago it was slightly different than its Holocene descendants as with the giant jaguar which survived today as it evolved to adapt to the current ecological niche it occupies today.

Your info is very accurate. However, the only thing I could criticise you on is downplaying the size of Arctodus simus as I think that most estimates have the biggest ever individuals at around 1000 kg (or slightly under that).

No, the info is flawed As usual, errors. - The Atlas bear isn't a species, it's a brown bear subspecies, and therefore the species is extant. - Ursus maritimus tyrannus is a) (presented as) a subspecies, it's species is extant and shouldn't be listed b) is NOT a valid taxon. It is widely dismissed as misidentification. It is NOT recognised as a polar bear subspecies

This is a good video; informative and interesting. I think it would be improved, though, if it included the size and weight statistics of living bears (for example the black bear. the brown/grizzly bear and the kodiak bear) for comparisons sake. it’s hard to visualise the size of these extinct bear species from length and weight statistics alone, without context.

A 3500 pound bear on average means a 4500 pound larger version since there would have had to be large versions of the bear that lived so if 11’ was average then 14’ 4500 lbs could have been possible!!!

So the king polar bear was smaller then the modern polar bear. Cuz they have found polar bears tha rech over 800 kg. And the biggest kodiak bear they ever killed reached almost the same.
