If you're thinking about mane of the lions, the tigers fangs can easily get through the manes, you guys over exaggerated the manes, siberian tigers fought grizzly bears which have thicker fur.

Besides the bigger size, mass and power, I guess the biggest advantage the tiger has over the lion is to stay on his hind legs while fighting with both front paws at the same time, while the lion has to have 3 legs on the ground while fighting with one. And if you have ever seen the forearms of a tiger, jesus, these are rocket launchers. Bombarding your opponents head with lethal blows from both bazookas, while being superior in mass, size and power at the same time, there is not much room for the lion to win this fight one on one. BUT, a lion is never alone, as we all know :P

Before the comment section turns into lion fans vs tiger fans, please note the below: 1. There is a very slim chance that these two will come face to face in their natural habitat. 2. Lions are usually never alone unlike tigers. 3. Tigers are bigger and stronger but lions have more warfare experience as lions hunt in pride and frequently. Also male lions have to fight other males to defend their territory. 4. If they ever come face to face for a fight for survival, although the lion's mane protects the neck, the tiger has more chance of winning due to bigger size and strength, but again it can go either way depending on who strikes first. 5. As an animal lover and especially a cat lover, I love both these majestic cats.

As someone who has been involved in “Game dogs” back when it was not yet illegal and Game Birds still to this day where it is tradition and legal, i can tell you that it is the individual that matters the most. It can be argued that you can pick the best representative for the siberian and the best reprasentative of the biggest lion. If the lion because of its mane and constant sparring or having practice fights with its comrades it can win against the bigger stronger tiger. However if you pick a siberian tiger and school it by pitting it against lions in controlled practice fights assuming it can be done and he gets or acquires the skills he needs to fight a battle hardened lion, then his advantage in size and athleticsm may give him the edge because Tigers even the smaller ones are pound for pound more athletic to lions of compareable size. In short it depends as said on the individual, the training, skill, power, and a little bit of luck.

I don’t think those are pure blood barbarians, I think they’re hybrids. Basically what happened is a group of lions in containment were found to have ancestors that were barbarian by going through their family tree basically. They have some of the genes of their barbarian ancestors but they’re basically mutts. Maybe they can get lucky and recreate the pure barbarians through technology somehow with the hybrids that they have access to.

Tigers try to avoid conflict since any injury can severely limit hunting ability. Male lions on the other hand are born warriors and hardly hunt. They defend their pride and territory and takeover other prides and territories regularly getting into fights. So, in the wild, the tiger will probably move away whereas a lion will fight for its domain.

Lol, that's an old myth. Tiger fights in wild too for territories. In India number 1 cause of death of tiger is being killed by another tiger. Besides in Africa it's never 1V1 male lion fights. Each prides usually have 2-5 males they take on rivals pride with similar numbers. Lion pride with 1 male gets killed in a short time.

Tigers win most of the time in comparable weight or small differences. In the first place, tigers are one-on-one specialists. The Siberian tiger is even bigger than the lion and is no match at 1:1.

The amount of misinformation is fatal. About Size and advantages. Lion and Tigers have similar claw lengths. Tiger have just slightly longer canines but are completely different build. Lions can maul and hold prey better. Also that myth with hindlegs is false. Lions have strong hindquarters and studies who analyzed the tibia and femur bone shows very well that lions are at least as strong as a tiger there. The fighting style is just different. No on mentions the fighting style of the lion which creates much more force and momentum when they try to swipe their opponents. Also the tiger shows his sensible belly fighting on 2 legs. And from where you got the myth that tigers are more mascular? This myth isnt backed up by facts and people like surgeons and trainers in the past showed how lions have more muscle mass especially at the front quarters like shoulders. Also a Siberian male reached a muscle percentage of 56% and a ill male lion in a study also had 55%. This video is bias to the end level. Recent fights shows how lions dominate tiger.

Why does everybody think lions don’t fight on their back feet, this is also another myth because I’ve seen it with my own eyes when two adult male lions go at it they are on their back feet palling with both Paws and it is quite impressive. They can doesn't mean they are good at it. It is not their common fighting style(weaker hind legs). They generally use 3 paws for balance and 1 paw for the attack. One advantage they have though is that they keep moving forward bluntly when they attack instead of shielding from the blows(thanks to the mane). Tigers on the other hand stand up on two hind legs and keep backing if necessary to avoid hits from the opponent(just like a boxer). And they go full offensive with the front two paws. So the lion has a mane to protect, Tiger has an extra fighting paw to balance the fight. Again, it's not going to be easy for either of them. Tigers back out if they have a chance to back out. Because in wild, the Injured tiger is a dead tiger. Lions are less likely to back out because they can steal food from females when they can't go for a hunt. So if the Tiger has no way to back out, It is going to be full offensive. That is why most of the Arena fights in history have gone in Tiger's favor.

Tiger will most likely win a 1v1 against a lion, due to a more muscular build and stronger bite force, but you can never underestimate a lions power, lions have some good stats too, thick neck skin covered with a mane, may be smarter and more experienced with battle IQ, the reason that they are better at combat and has more battle IQ is because they work in prides, and tigers think they are too good to work in groups, and i don't want any tiger fans saying stuff in the replies, if you don't agree, don't comment.

Two things more. Typically sib has stronger forearms. But also, lion's neck and belly are armored by heavy mane, so tiger has nowhere to bite or scratch. Only perhaps to try breaking his neck by heavy thump, or crippling him and then proceed.

Well when you look at the historical facts about the Roman Coliseum, Bengal tigers defeated the Barbary lion 86% of the time, common sense and logic says the Siberian tigers should defeat it every time. I don't see why we should go against either common sense or logic. Also the average Barbary lion was no wear near 500 - 600lbs. That is ridiculous. They are the largest subspecies of lion but get real. All sources I have read say the Barbary lion was on average 40lbs larger than their African cousins. This puts their average size between 425 - 475lbs. 500 - 600lbs, hahhahahhahahaha not even close, that is closer to the Siberian tiger. Bengal tigers on average are larger than Barbary lions. Not by much but none the less still larger. Sometimes your videos are very accurate and other times they are way off base. Hot and cold this channel is.

as an ex boxer, this reminds me of the debates we always had of a champ from years gone by to a champ of today. These are fun conversations but unfortunately its all just opinion and educated guess. I'm no fun lol, I always say in a very even matchup, the fighter who gets in the first hard punch will win. This is a close one, I'd pick the tiger too by a slight margin

Just the way the tiger fights says it all. They can stand on two legs and give multiple hits very fast. plus they outweigh the lion by 100lbs. The real king of the jungle .

Standing on two legs and swiping with 2 paws need more stamina. Tigers have less stamina and courage compared to lions

Something to know about Lions. The alpha male King of pride Lion is always the most powerful because none of the other Lions can defeat him!!! It's a different story with Tigers. Tigers are solitary cats,like Leopards,Jaguars, & Cheetahs. They are also very territorial & will fight each other just like they will during mating rituals. Tigers are also solitary hunters capable of killing large animals like Sloth Bears,Gaurs, & Water Buffaloes BY THEMSELVES!!! They know how to kill,quickly!!! Male Lions don't hunt or rarely hunt so they don't know how to kill like a Tiger!!! That's that about that!!!

i have seen a tiger face to face. i was in a resort near corbett national park, i went out just for a walk and i saw a tiger just casually walk in the middle of it road. before i could get a heart attack or piss my pants he just went back to bushes. it was not some very remote area but couple of small roadside shops where there.
