Come spend a night with my at the remote off grid log cabin in the wilderness. The next day I take a day trip into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to check out some Native American pictographs. #homesteading #offgrid #cabin

Kyle just a sugestion. When you are filling in between the wood with spray foam, and it a little bigger hole that usual, Pack the hole with steel wool then use the spray foam. The steel wool causes a magnet charge when chewed on and the martins will move on somewhere else. Works great on rats and fielld mice alsos.

Steel wool in holes works well for mice and rats. I have done that before with success.

It’s great! My shed has been completed and it turned out nice looking and sturdy and it is way better than the sheds that many of my neighbors had put up. Of course, I'm pleased with the outcome and this Ryan’s kzfaq.infoUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans was extremely useful to me as a guide.

Great perspective Kyle !!! When I look back at my lifetime I'm often amazed at the technical and medicinal advancements we've made. At the same time I miss the the more simplistic lifestyle I grew up in. I'm happy we have young men like you, I just wish there were more of you. Keep up the good life !!!

Well it isn't as perfect as you describe the olden days to be but it is simpler but not less harder. You still have to raise food, if you don't own land you have to find work still & at times territory battles happen too. There is always the good & the hard in all ways of life. :)

Kyle, you are so right. Life has become over complicated......having to have the latest phones, internet, passcodes, bills, nice car.....all of it. My husband and I are living a very simple life, debt free, out in the country, where we can disconnect from the news and enjoy the simple pleasures. Liked how you showed us all the food that you had packed for your trip, some of the same stuff we would pack, if going on a trip.⛄️❤️

Couldn't agree more regarding modern life. This is why I like to walk in nature daily with my dogs and watch channels like this to escape. I live in the UK so we don't have wilderness like you still have over there. Just have to do what we can... I'd also definitely hike there to see those drawings. I've always been fascinated by the first nation people and their culture...

Mother Nature can provide us with all we need. In our time i think 90% of all people have lost the real connection to mother nature. I stopped living this modern life some years ago and it makes me much, much happiere then i ever was. Still have my computer and my mobile phone to do some stuff but it is not more then as a tool now. LOve, peace and some work to life is enough. We don't need more then that.

Helene - I am a retired nurse, 8 years now. Like you, I dreamed of no longer being a nurse, as I worked until my wife turned 65, and I was 70. I do not miss the workload nor the office politics, although I was a visiting nurse for a PACE program in the HomeCare Division and more or less kept out of that mess. But I do miss the discretionary income!

I loved this video. the Indian pictographs are fascinating, and the boundary waters area is so beautiful. My husband and sons have traveled and camped through that area and they have always said it was one of their favorite trips. I also want to say that your words at the end of the video about "life" were so wise. You will do well if you can maintain that healthy attitude about what is important in life and what isn't. God bless you, Kyle!

I remember those "Bunny" boots from 40 years ago when I was in Alaska. The ice climbers use to wear them, maybe they still do. BTW, I've had good results with Energizer (non-rechargeable) Lithium Batteries in my trail cameras. Although expensive, they handle the cold better and last several times longer than alkaline batteries. Thanks for the video Kyle!

Did not see how you blocked the entrance/exit for the pine marten. The pictographs are neat. There's a Nattional Recreation Park called Three Rivers, north of Tularosa, New Mexico, that has petroglyphs on boulders. Interesting place, have been there three times. Always found something new each time, that I had not found before. I agree on a simpler lifestyle. Been retired 8 years, live on half the income we had while working, yet not destitute. House and car were paid off before retirement. Car is 16 years old, minimal rust, in good driving condition. Phone hangs on the kitchen wall. No SMART appliances or TV. No Cable or Satellite TV, just an antenna for each TV. We eat organic, take only 2 or 3 prescriptions each. Wife is in early 70's and I am in my late 70's. See the MD once a year.
