I got to know this song through Suits in middle school, after it was featured in the show. At first, when I searched this song, I was scared for the girl in the video. Now, as a university student in Japan, I realize how cruel my country is to immigrants and this song hit different. I came back to this song to rewatch this music video. I'm so sorry that my country isn't doing enough. I understand now that it's a privilege to live in a country that, as selfish and nationalist as it is, is peaceful enough that you don't have to fear for your safety. I'm going to donate monthly to UNHCR when I can start my job again. Thank you WILDES for making an impactful, amazing music and using it to spread awareness.
