It breaks my heart to see you so sad Maria. The loss of wildlife and livestock is so saddening, let alone the loss of people's homes and livelihoods. All your fans in Australia understand how devastating fires like this can be, and you have our sympathies ❤️ But we have fires like this regularly, so I can only begin to imagine how difficult it must be for the people of Yakutia, usually living in such cold climate and suddenly dealing with so much heat. The Sakha people are in my prayers, and are a true reminder that we must do everything we can to slow climate change!!

Truly devastating events. Every tree is a living part of the earth, and losing one of them is like losing a human; and from what we learn from this video, their importance for Sakha people is even more significant. I am crazy sad to hear the scale of this horrible disaster; all my heart is with all the Sakha people during this time. Having also had recently unprecedented fires in Turkiye, I hope that humans learn fast how to cope with the troubles of climate change. Take care, and thank you very much for everything!

I am from California and forest fires are just a normal (sad) part of life. I grew up and moved away and I wouldn't go back now, because I have a young son with a chronic, incurable lung disease, and the air quality is terrible in California a lot of the year due to smoke. I'm so sorry you guys are dealing with this. Please know that my heart is with you and I understand your emotions 💜

Thank you for sharing this information! In the US we hear very little news from Siberia. The entire northern hemisphere is having similar problems. I saw a video from a pilot who flew from London to Los Angeles just a couple of days ago, and he said that smoke from fires in California was visible northeast of Hudson Bay, which is approx. 3000 km away. And about a month ago, parts of British Columbia in Canada hit 49 degrees C!

This is heartbreaking news, but I love hearing how resilient the Sakha people are in the face of tragedy. Here in Okinawa, we call it "yuimāru", the spirit of mutual assistance and community. A BIG thank you to Maria for this informative content, delivered in a way that commands full attention.

Sending so much love and positive energy that you guys need to get through this all the way from Australia. I understand the worry and the pain that you guys are facing as we experienced many similar things here in Australia in 2019-2020. I know Yakutia is not as developed as here in Australia and the impacts of the wildfires will be felt a lot stronger in Sakha republic. Thank you so much for making me aware of this issue and what is going on and I really hope that things will begin to get better soon. You and the people of Yakutia are so so brave.

Thank you for drawing attention to this and for volunteering; I'm also relieved that your family's farm has been spared. My family farms as well, I cannot think of the sadness to already know in August that I won't be able to feed my animals in January. The whole world needs to get involved with fighting these fires because we all share the environmental consequences.

Thank you for this insight. Every time the wildfires were in the news (luckily our media covered them), it made me think about you and your family. The scale of the events is really unbelievable. It's hard to imagine even the smoke was so tense, even the smoke-alarm inside the buildings was triggered. Good to hear you are (kind of) alright. I feel for the farmers. Stay safe.

This has barely been covered in the Western Press, prefer to concentrate on the US fires, Oz, etc. Nearly five times has been lost than California and over three times compared to Oz. Every hectare lost is a tragedy but the difference is that the remoteness and reduced fire fighting capacity make this far worse. My thoughts are with you all and thank you for this heartfelt update which I hope will get shared far and wide.

I discovered your channel few months ago after searching Sakha /Yakutian topics in Yt (my mom was born there and half of my family lives still). I love your channel because I discovered some new things that I wasn't aware of. I fell sadness for what happening today in yakutia because of global warming, it's heart breaking for a such beautiful place. Last time I travel there, I was a child and I kept from there the best memories from my childhood. It's such a shame what's happening and I'm scared for my family's health. I hope you'll stay safe too. Love and support from France

Those forests are ancient. The ancestors. They have many stories to tell, and many things to teach us. Everyone reading this focus on sending rain to Siberia. Imagine the rain putting out the fires. I’m in Northern California in the western USA. Our fires here are out of control this summer. One fire has burned >700,000 acres and has been burning for over a month. My heart goes out to you and your countrymen affected by these terrible fires.

Thank you for making this video, even though it was hard. It is so cruel that the consequences of climate change are falling most heavily on the people who have had the least to do with it, and the most to lose from it. I live far from where wildfires are happening in the US, but even we got smoke from the fires this year. It wasn't even close to how thick it has been in Yakutia---I can't imagine how difficult that has been to deal with. Is there any way that us international folk can help? Any trustworthy funds for donating to help with the fires and help people and their animals get through the winter?
