Capra (scientific name: Capra aegagrus aegagrus) is the name of a subspecies of mountain goat.
Pagens are amazingly skilled at climbing impassable rocks. For this reason, they have been called the king of rocks. Male pageants, called kals, have long sword-like horns and black beards. Pazens live in mountainous and rocky areas (up to 4,000 meters). They are found in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Greece and the Caucasus, and in Iran, they are scattered everywhere except the central desert areas.
When the guards jump and climb the rocks, the sound is created by their feet hitting each other and the rocks. For this reason, they are called pazan. Goats and goats are the ancestors of domestic goats and can mate with them. But certain differences, such as long and sword-like horns, separate them from domestic goats.
Horns are different in male and female guards. Males, called Kal, have long, knotted horns that can reach 150 cm in length. These knotted, long and beautiful horns, which are inclined towards the back of the body like a sword, are semi-circular and cause these animals to roll over and save their lives if they are thrown from the rock. Females also have very simple and short horns. Also, the horns are a means of defense for the whole during mating. In this season, males fight hard to get females. The blows that these animals make with their horns when fighting are usually delivered in the first third of the length of the horns.
The age of male guards can be recognized by their horns. Every year that passes from the age of the guard, the length and diameter of the horn increases, and as a result of this growth, certain protrusions remain on the horns, which are called "knots". By counting these knots, the age of the guards can be guessed. Horn growth is high in the early years; But it usually decreases from the age of 7 onwards. The growth of these horns almost stops in winter; But the nodes grow and get bigger.
