The aptly named "CAPE OF STORMS"!! Fire, wind and water! A deadly and destructive combination!
@rainbowtrust6347
@rainbowtrust6347 2 ай бұрын
I hate to agree the fact that, the city is deadly and destructive, yet so beautiful. Who can make a real home in a place like that. It has most dangerous weather factors surprising all the time. 1.Drought time to time , 2. Extreme Summer fires and worst fires at informal settlements, 3. Extreme winds 4. And fiercely kind of rain. CapeTown is the most beautiful city ever seen in the world 🗺. It is my original birth place. But ever since I came to work in Gauteng JBG, I chose to establish and have my family, I realize that Cape Town there's nothing good in expecting clumsy and worse weather all time, where you don't know what to expect at night, morning or noon bcoz it has 3 times changing climate per day. SACANS call it windy city. I call it hell city, just like its unexpected taxi violence, burning of busses and trains out of blue. Let alone the horrible decisions people make their problems worse for choosing to flock in the city and build clumsy shelters on railway lines if they don't build them on national roads and close to airports. That's city of Cape Town hellish life. And looks like the government there has given up and doesn't care who comes in and do whatever they like. IT'S DONE, GIVE IT UP, DON'T MATTER ANYMORE and it's becoming a trademark of the city A CITY OF EXTREME DISASTERS . The disasters are spreading further western Cape. Please God Almighty forbid the ugliest side of the most beautiful city of Cape Town . Forbid angry climate and the cause of disasters I pray, and for the whole country SA too ( because JBG , Ekurhuleni and Mpumalanga suffer flooding and worse potholes )

The comments here are rediculous. It's winter. It's normal. The fire along the coast was arson and they caught the guy. The tragic part is the people who don't have proper shelters in the first place suffer the most while government ministers give themselves raises on their 2 million rand salaries every year.

It's the children suffering bcz we make choices that's suits us and not thinking about children and they get use to live on the streets and so does their future families too and my heart breaks for them pls take care and be safe and keep warm

It is not as bad as it look. We live in the Cape of storms. There is a reason hundreds of ships sank here in centuries. Fires are many times set on purpose for a number of years now, although fine bush also need natural fire. Arsonists caught many times, others were just reckless behavior using fire.. Sadly in informal settlements there are often fires because people build the shacks where there are no services available, hence no emergency entrances. They often burn because paraffin is used as energy source or candles. Because they built it so close to each other, fire starting in one affect many others. They are also built in floodplains, so water is always a big issue. Hopefully we will get a new national governing party/coalition that close the borders and spend money on building homes instead of corruption. These shacks often burn down with not storm around. Emergency shelters were made available. There was a lot of uprooted trees, and some roofs have blown off. The wind was very ferocious, but all areas were not affected. I live in the middle of the Metro, and no damage in our neighborhood, very little rain, but a lot of thunder and lightning. Some areas had more rain. The vehicles blowing off the bridge at the Paarl bridge, was limited after a caravan and a trailer, and one lorry have blown off(the driver miraculously , the tunnel was closed. Wind is often a problem there. No wind at the moment, no rain. Most of the damage was done in the Mbekweni informal settlement, and there were 40 fires at times in the Western Cape. Cape Town has excellent Emergency management by the DA. Schools roofs damaged already replaced, emergency shelters opened, many of the fallen trees removed, and children in some areas back in school tomorrow. If the wind blows so hard in Cape Town, the Karoo gets rain, and they did. Which is GREAT, as it was very dry there for years. Only one person died when a tree fell on him, 3 others had minor injuries.

Go back 15+ years the global climate was way better but since then we drain many many areas in the rain forest for wood and the rain forest is very important for climate, so i think it only get worse over the next 10+ years.

I live in Strand - that roof of Number 60 definitely flew off on Sunday 7 April, and the e truck going over the Du Toits Kloof pass, and the eucalyptus trees and branches down in Parel Vallei Road. Schools were closed yesterday (Monday) as many had a lot of damage and authorities worried there’d be more danger Monday but it was calm. I’ve just driven my son to school this morning and seen trees down some bent at angle, branches everywhere, corrugated and IBR roofing off of Strand High, Hottentots Holland High and a big pet shop that specializes in birds. My neighbour’s front wall blew down and many gates in my area blew down.

@@marlondaniels3114 Ah, I get it. Life must be a bed of roses all the way through, than you might consider He exists? Abraham was asked to Sacrifice Isaac, which must have ripped his heart out, but obediently he travelled days (which gave him more time to remember Gods is perfect and knows what is best... or conversly curse God). Abraham was fully prepared to fulfill teh sacrifice, being stopped at the last moment by an angel. He had proved worthy of the covenant to be made with him. We will all go through at least one Abraham like trial in our lives, should we wish to return to God, where by the way Abraham, already is with full exaltation.

Last two days and still ongoing. Power station exploded from it near my area. Neighbours missing some roof tiles. Had it worse in the past. The Western Cape is quite windy on the coastlines. The poorer areas and squatter camps is having it the worst.
