This Daphne Blue beauty has chest-rattling resonance! It's clear and warm, yet it drips with overtones. The highs have that classic Fender presence, and they remain sweet and musical no matter how hard you smack it!

I own a Squier Deluxe strat with maple neck in that Daphne Blue finish and really like that color! The Tele here sounds great and might be a nice investment as a vintage for $14k - wonder if the refinish hurts the value? I actually like the way the tele's feel/play with the top loading strings. They should all be made that way.

Funny I am here to confirm the same thing. I have had string through Teles and did not get along with them. Just bought a cheapo top loader bridge Tele with the three saddle bridge. 21 frets, basswood body, maple neck and a rosewood fretboard and some of the nicest cheap chinese ceramic single coil pickups I've ever heard or played through. No need to work on frets except a polish. Electronics are great. $127 to my door, unknown brand, but the resonant no-hole body and top-loader bridge is amazingly nice and plays like butter. I gotta do a NGD on TDPRI lol.

Greg, you should go the single clean amp + drive pedals route more often. While I understand that the Friedman is top tier circuitry and must sound amazing in a band context, I don't think it's a great amp to demo guitars on because of the aggressive mids of it. This was an enjoyable demo from start to finish and you had a good range of drive levels that didn't feel disjointed when switching. Keep rocking man.

He used to just run through a very nice Tone King with the BB Preamp for "alittle heat", lol. Awesome tone, seriously. Now he A/Bs with a different Tone King amd the Friedman. I dont think it sounds as good, but that is just my humble opinion. As aways Gregs playing is stellar. He could play a First Act guitar from Wal-Mart through a old Gorilla amp and still sound great.
